Over $29K in 3 months to patients from BVI Cancer Society

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The BVI Cancer Society has contributed over $20,000.00 in patient support assistance over the past three months.

According to the Cancer Society, it made the information public as part of its commitment to “transparency and supporting those affected by cancer in our community”. 

“We provided $29,477.48 in direct assistance to patients in need during this period,” the society said in a social media post. The breakdown of the funds is as follows:

  • November 2025- $537.33
  • December 2025- $9,000.00
  • January 2026- $19,940.15

Cancer Prevention Month

The BVI Cancer Society is recognising February as Cancer Prevention Month. 

“It is a time to focus on awareness, healthy choices, and the importance of early detection.”

In its World Cancer Day message on February 4, 2025, the Cancer Society said it stands with every fighter, every survivor, every caregiver, and every family touched by cancer.

“We honour your strength. We acknowledge your journey. And we reaffirm our commitment to awareness, early detection, support, and hope for today and every day. Together, we can close the care gap and build a healthier future for our community.”
