SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Thanks to a collaboration between Third District residents Ms Kishma P. Forbes of Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies and Mr Julian Willock of Advance Marketing and Professional Services, students of the Third District are geared up and ready for reopening of school in two weeks’ time.

More than one hundred and thirty (130) students attended the Back-to-School Giveaway for students in the district at Ebenezer Thomas Primary School on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

As promised, it was an afternoon filled with children’s entertainment, motivational speeches, snacks, and music.

Prior to receiving their bags with school supplies, the children were given a pep talk by former Youth Parliament Member Dylan J. Penn.

Pep talk

Mr Penn urged the students to aim for success and noted that if they succeed in doing the little things, the bigger things will take care of themselves.

“Success does not come by wishing. Success comes by trying and doing all the little things,” Mr Penn said, adding that the children showed up to the back-to-school event because they cared enough for school to get prepared for it.

One of the keys to success, Mr Penn also shared, is to be respectful, including having respect for oneself.

Also giving remarks was the new Principal of Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, Ashkisha Maduro.

Gratitude

Ms Kishma P. Forbes expressed appreciation to everyone who supported the event as well as her business, Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies, which she said is a newly opened business in Sea Cows Bay.

Mr Willock thanked the many sponsors and volunteers of the back-to-school event.

Sponsors included Nanny Cay Hotel and Marina, Caribbean Insurance Limited, Therapy Works, Dion A. Stoutt of STO Enterprise Ltd., Hon Lorna G. Smith OBE, B & G Marine Services, Aromas Cigar & Martini Bar, Legacy Auto, Coconut Lounge, De La Santa Bakery, Rajah A. Smith of No Limit Construction, Nagico Insurance, Julien N. Most will agree that Julian Willock is one of the country's best all around talent and having him in the picture makes good sense.

Ms Forbes we love your business, we support you!
