BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- A resident of Jost van Dyke who called in to the VIP Let's Talk radio show aired on Tuesday, February, February 8, 2022, has praised the current Honourable Andrew A. Fahie(R1)-led administration for not leaving the Jost van Dyke (JvD) residents behind like previous administrations did.

In fact, the male caller to the show on ZBVI 780 AM said the level of attention that the Sister Island is now receiving has not been seen in over two decades and that was when the same Virgin Islands Party administration was in power.

“Congratulations to the Government and to the whole administration, especially to the Honourable Premier.”

He said on JvD, several things are happening.

“We are going to pour a lot of the hillside road, plantation road going up to the antenna in Jost van Dyke. We haven’t had that done since way back with the VIP.  We haven't had that since Honourable [J Alvin] Christopher was there. So it is good to see that Honourable Kye [Rymer Minister for Transportation and Works], Premier, that all that work is going on the road.”

JvD is on the move!

He added: “Jost van Dyke is on the move. We have the houses like the Fire Station get reconditioned, the Police Station, all of them get new vehicles, we have so many things done, the Dog Hole Road get asphalt. We had a lot of people get brand new houses over here, a lot of people get help rebuilding their house[s] with all the grants that was given out with everything.

We ain't see this amount of things getting done in Jost van Dyke in over 20 years.”

Due to this, he said the Opposition should remain out of office.

“The Opposition, they talking, talking and when they were in with the NDP we get zero over here. I guess the Opposition right now they in a very good spot in the Opposition. That’s where they belong, they are in a good spot there, they could stay there, because when they were in government we weren’t hearing them and we wasn’t getting nothing...I wanted to tell you guys, keep the good work up,” He stated.

In response to his words, Minister Rymer replied: “No district left behind,” adding that work is happening all around the territory despite the challenges of the pandemic.
