ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the Virgin Islands (VI) has dwindled to just 1 active case with no new recorded cases, sparking a cause for celebration among government and local health authorities.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), in a social media update today October 6, 2020, said, “To God alone be all the glory! I thank our Minister of Health… as well as all our Health Officials, Government officials, and Public Officers for their continuous efforts in keeping the BVI safe with BVILOVE.”

As of Tuesday, October 6, 2020, Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Carvin Malone (AL) reported that no new COVID-19 cases have been detected in the past days.

The positive news comes as the territory prepares to re-open its borders to international tourists on December 1, 2020.

The total confirmed cases to date in the VI stands at 71 with 69 recoveries, one death and a single current active case.

Public complying with protocols - Hon Malone

“These low to no active cases are a good indication that the public is complying to all the health and safety protocols and measures that the Government has put in place. It is also a good indication on our readiness for re-opening in the weeks ahead, which will give our economy the boost that it needs,” Hon Malone said.

Persons who are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 are reminded not to visit any healthcare facility but are encouraged to contact the Medical Hotline at 852-7650.

The Health Minister further commended the work of local health teams, the joint task forces, in addition to the private and public alliances in the fight of the COVID-19 pandemic in the territory.

Get out of here with your witchcraft.

Isaiah 8:19 When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning.

That's great to hear but I'm curious about how many were serious cases. We need to know how people bodies reacted to contracting this virus and not just thinking everyone was near death.

True, we also have to acknowledge that there are potential persons who have it and are asymptomatic who do not even know that they have the virus. Additionally, there are those who have and will have no need to go to the doctor, particularly if they show very mild symptoms. These cases go unnoticed and are totally unaccounted for, so this is no reason to celebrate with bells on, but rather be extremely cautious.

We were Covid Free in August that was the time we should have been preparing to open our borders. A plan should have already been there. Now they waiting until the 11th hour. To Rush something on us. I'm sure it's going to be complicated and a turn off. We just don't have confidence in these People...

Government needs to keep the curfew for a few more months let some of you all learn to stay in your homes and find something constructive to do; one of which is learning to read your Bible.

I am happy to be told that in the B.V.I there remain only only one (1) known active Covid-19 case on record so far, though there may be aproximate five or more (5+) unrecorded ones. Records from many Countries in the world still show that the Covid-19 pancemic is still desdly in many Countries. Just to nsme s few U.S.A, UK, Brazil and the list goes on. Many Contries are in the process of developing vaccines, but records show that it may take approximately another six (6) month to approximately one (1) year or more to get us out of the woods, a saying oftenly spoken out of the mouth of our current Premier. I agee that it is not wise to keep our Country under lock down for any ling period of time. To do that will strangled our half live economy to death. But it is not also wise to open our border wide open to quickly. To do this is highly risky. Taking high risk ctions without adequate data and the use of good judgment can cause a half sinking ship to disappear under the surface of the sea like aubmarine, same will any Coutry, if not careful. Forward we must, but with careful steps. Fathers, in the precious and unmatched name Jesus Christ I ask of you to guide our Leaders of this territory by the power of Your knowledge, wisdom, sound mind, so that we be kept safe in these times of uncertainty. Clearly Your Word tell us that it is not in man to direct his own steps in the path. We need your continuing guidience, as we face the future we know not now. In the care of Your security we placed our lives. Amen.
