SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI- OneMart Supermarket officially opened its Virgin Gorda location on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

The new OneMart Supermarket is located at Rosy’s Plaza, which housed Rosy’s Supermarket. Rosy's Supermarket closed its doors permanently on March 8, 2026.

Mr Henry O. Creque, Vanterpool Group Chief Executive Officer, called it a great passing of the baton, after fifty years of great, faithful and loyal service offered to the community of Virgin Gorda from the Rosy’s Supermarket family to the OneMart family.

“The OneMart family takes up the mantle, and we pledge to always greet you, our customers, as you come in through our doors, with warm and friendly smiles. We pledge to deliver the level of service and hospitality that the island of Virgin Gorda is known for, and we promise to do our best to keep the products that you need in the store and the prices that you want,” Creque said.

A promise of dedication, love, respect & service

Creque added that after years of witnessing their customers from Virgin Gorda shop at their location in Tortola, OneMart Supermarket has come to them.

Meanwhile, Mrs Judith E. Vanterpool, Chief Operations Officer, said after years of planning, they have moved from planning to opening, “We feel very grateful and very honoured, very humbled to come to Virgin Gorda…We, the Vanterpool faimly give you thanks, and we intend to provide for you as best as we can.”

While she could not promise the lowest prices, due to the current global climate, Mrs Vanterpool assured and promised the best service, love, respect, and dedication.

“That’s what we’re all about.”

Finally, OneMart is here- Hon Vincent O. Wheatley

District Nine Representative, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley, said plans to expand OneMart to Virgin Gorda have been thirty years in the making since he joined the company when he was a young man.

“I want to commend the Vanterpool family for the expansion onto Virgin Gorda after forty years; they’re here. I’ve worked with the Vanterpool family, so I know what they are all about, and our community will be greater for having OneMart here among us.”

Hon Wheatley also applauded the Vanterpool family and company for their willingness to always give back.

“Any community they function in, they make sure they give back to that community, and I want to applaud them for that.”

OneMart Supermarket Virgin Gorda also has a few exclusive deals as part of its opening.

hopefully them could keep up ................ vg dont get much yatch people coming to buy out the whole store. thats why rite way and other markets can keep their prices so high cuz we the residents are a small fraction of there 500% profits. thats why price control is frowned on by the elites and big wigs

This isn’t just a supermarket—it’s part of the territory’s food security. We’re reminded of that every time a natural disaster hits and access suddenly matters. It also creates real jobs, right here in the community. And credit where it’s due: Mark Vanterpool is putting his money behind Virgin Gorda—again. This is his second investment in VG and I am sure it wont be his last. That’s conviction. It signals a belief in the island’s economic viability and, more broadly, in the viability of the BVI itself. He has literally put his money where is mouth is i.e Instead of just talking we see ACTION and vision .While other just talk it Mark Vanterpool is like Nike he Just DO IT!!!

Not everyone likes or needs the spotlight. Remember that Mark Vanterpool is a public figure not just because of his business ventures but because he has been in politics for well over 25 years .Many times large corporations need a public face and one has to be chosen.Because he is alrady a public figure he is probably best to represent the family enterprise. I am sure that that the family act as a unit and members are well compensated.

This would be better to be discussed in private. In public will only worsen the situation. The is always 3 sides your side ,the other side and somewhere in between the truth. Things can get worked out but do it from reason and strategy not emotion.
