EAST END, Tortola, VI- Early and late shoppers in the community of Long Look/East End, now have another option to frozen items, grocery, auto supplies and soon a deli, for hot meals, fast foods, and drinks.

One Stop supermarket and Deli officially opened its doors to the public on December 15, 2016 with a staff of five.

In an exclusive interview with Virgin Islands News Online, the Manager of One Stop Supermarket and Deli, Shadi M. Viada, said the business operates from as early as 6:00 A.M. on a daily basis closes at 10:00 P.M.

Supermarket fills several gaps

According to him, it was borne out of the need to fill several gaps in the community of Long Look/East End, among them, competitive prices, a variety of items, and it also raised the area’s profile and complements the other businesses in its vicinity such as a bakery and a car rental company.

“We are trying to have the good prices and service for the customers, specials all the time and ensure that they come with a smile and leave with a smile,” Viada said.

“There was a supermarket here before, and we were interested in the location because it is good. We asked people in the area and the people say yes they need another supermarket, sometimes they need some things and they cannot find it and they have to find it in a different location. People say they would love to see the place upgraded, a clean store, a building running, not shutting down, now the area is totally different.”

Viada also expressed his thanks to those who supported and wished everyone an enjoyable Christmas season and New Year.

One Stop Supermarket and Deli is located next to Mangrove Bakery. The business is owned by Rana Hassan.

What some of us should realise(most of the properties where business is conducted in the territory are owned by the locals) the locals might not be operating the actual business but they own the building: it is more viable to rent out your building to a financially stable establishment than deal with tedious day to day business operations; still making money!!!!!

Those prices are for tourists. Locals cannot afford this. They better do some adjustments fast or go out of business.
