A well-rested, sober person, driving the speed limit and paying due care and attention could not have managed that.

... unless he had to swerve to avoid a scooter!

It can happen. Some people drive careless. Multitasking constantly. It takes 5 seconds of not looking to get in a accident.

    Dear Really,
The only problem with what you stated is that the speed limit is 20 MPH, which is very dangerouse when everyone else is driving 30-40. The issue is that Public Works sets traffic signage when it should be the Police Traffic Department. Look at the ludicrouse placement of stop signs, the written STOP on the road which is not legal signage, and that intersection of the one way in front of the Admin Center with stop signs no where near the intersection.

Reality Check, I have read your comment and cannot comprehend why you are criticizing Really ???. The point is if the driver was driving with due care and attention, he or she would have observed the stop sign on the road. Whether the driver is skillful or not the condition of the road must be taken into consideration. What we all must strive to do is to drive safely to reach our destinations. Fast driving is not skillful driving, we should try to observe the speed limit whatever it is.

speed limit is clearly posted at 20mph for ALL vehicles. The police just need to enforce the speed limit 24/7.

Also the dual carriageway in Road Town will be much safer when all scooters and motorcycles are banned from this short stretch of highway.
