SOPHIE BAY, Tortola, VI- At least one person was taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital with injuries, following a vehicular accident at Sophie Bay Hill on Tortola this morning, Monday, May 18, 2026.

According to reports, the accident involved two pickup trucks and occurred around 6:00 AM.

Ambulance, police, and fire and rescue services were called to the scene.

More details will be provided as they come in.

    A well rested, sober person, paying due care and attention whilst driving the speed limit in a well maintained vehicle, could not have managed that.

      @ Oliver Closeoff. I agree with you. The other day, while going home, a black pick-up truck was coming down the hill at a tremendous amount of speed, and partially in my lane. I had to jam on the brakes, and so did the other people behind me. Everyone was honking their horns. This fool was out of control and never stopped. I thanked GOD for my survival and continued on my way. A lot of drivers are reckless on our roads, and I am not surprised there aren't more accidents.

    A while ago, A moron in a white Haval was driving recklessly by swerving in and out of the left and right lanes without due care or attention for the other drivers on the road.
