One arrested on suspicion of murder- RVIPF
According to information shared on August 12, 2026, the arrest occurred during search operations across the Virgin Islands (VI). The RVIPF said these search operations are being conducted as part of investigations into recent gun crimes.
A reported stolen vehicle was recovered, and several items of evidential value were seized by officers.
2 homicides for 2026
There have been two homicides in the VI for the year, with both occurring in July 2026.
K’Moi Walers died from a gunshot wound sustained during an altercation on July 6, 2026, at Huntum’s Ghut and local businessman Kai E. de Castro was killed in Brewers Bay on July 28, 2026.
The police did not say if the arrest was related to one of these murders.
Investigations are continuing, and further information will be provided as appropriate, the RVIPF stated.
