ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - To commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Movement, the BVI Olympic Committee, along with hundreds of nations around the world, will celebrate Olympic Day on June 23, 2013 with a full schedule of sports events.

The goal is to promote participation in sports across the globe, regardless of age, gender or athletic ability. Based on the three pillars “move”, “learn” and “discover”, the BVI Olympic Committee, in conjunction with its Member Federations, are deploying sports activities from June 15 -23, 2013.

This year’s Olympic Day programme includes a series of activities leading up to Olympic Day on June 23, which will showcase various sports.

The theme of Olympic Day is 'Move, Learn, Discover' and the 2013 events will be promoting these three pillars and the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.

Olympic Day certificates signed by the IOC President and the BVIOC President, tee shirts, and refreshments will be distributed to participants.
