MIAMI, Florida, USA- After Kadeem S. Maynard aka ‘Blacka’ indicated over a week ago he will be changing his plea to guilty on June 12, 2023, his mother and former BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) Managing Director Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard has also indicated she will be doing the same.

The Maynards and ex-Premier of the Virgin Islands Andrew A. Fahie were arrested by US authorities on April 28, 2022, on drug and money laundering charges.

Kadeem S. Maynard, 31, is charged with conspiracy to import a controlled substance (cocaine), conspiracy to engage in money laundering, and attempted money laundering.

Mr Fahie and Pickering-Maynard were previously charged with conspiracy to import a controlled substance (cocaine), conspiracy to engage in money laundering, attempted money laundering, and foreign travel in aid of racketeering.

Not guilty to guilty

Ms Maynard made a filing about her change of plea in a federal court in Miami today, May 30, 2023.

Her change-of-plea hearing is also set for June 12, 2023.

The Maynards are being held in jail, as they did not seek bail; however, Mr Fahie, is out on bail, although largely confined to his daughters’ apartment.

The trial for Mr Fahie is slated to begin on July 18, 2023.

@ The watchdog, You are correct. None of this is good news. There might be more killings just to shut people up. If mother and son are both pleading guilty now, that means they are talking to US officials to a plea bargain which means telling on others. How deep were they into this and at what cost of lives? This proves to be a greedy crook you must be ready to die at any time because that is the business you are in, and for what....money? I'd rather live poor and free than live crooked and scared every day. SAD!

There is going to be more killings to shut people up. REMEMBER, DEAD MAN OR WOMAN CANNOT TALK. I THINK LIKE YOU, I WOULD PREFER TO LIVE POOR EATING CRACKERS AND JELLY EVERYDAY THAN TO BE RUNNING SCARED AND PARANOID EVERYDAY WITH WORRY WONDERING IF AND WHEN THE FEDS OR A HITMAN IS COMING FOR ME.IT IS INDEED SAD. DEAD MEN AND WOMEN LIVE TO TELL NO TALES.

They are in some reallllllll deep quicksand. I pray that innocent people don’t get caught up in the cross fire. My mom usually go out for a walks and the store by herself and I put a stop to that. I told her just walk around in the yard and if she need to go to the store or anywhere my daughter will take her wherever she have to go. I don’t want my 70 year old mother walking around out here anymore by herself. It is getting to dangerous out here.

Sometimes I disagree with your comments, however, this time I am in agreement with your comment. Hey there is nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree. Andrew is in some very serious trouble. They turn rat on Andrew to save their hides. If a person change their plea from NOT GUILTY TO GUILTY, THEY GOT SOMETHING ON YOU. NOW, AS FAR AS ANDREW, HE IS GOING TO TURN RAT ON A LOT OF PEOPLE. DO YOU THINK ANDREW IS GOING TO SIT IN PRISON IN THE US FOR 10 YEARS OR MORE WHILE THE OTHERS WALK AROUND FREE? NO, NOT AT ALL. HE IS NOT GOING DOWN ALONE.HE GO DOWN, THEY ARE GOING DOWN AS WELL. THEY MAY ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS GOOD ON THOS END BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE RIGHT HERE ON TORTOLA IS GOING DOWN AND THEY ARE RUNNING SCARED.

@ scat, it's not looking good for any of them anyway. They were all innocent until proven guilty, now they are pleading guilty. Why should they protect him? He sure is not going to protect them and incriminate himself. They are all in this together, so it's dog-eat-dog and let the chips fall where they may.

Both son and mother plead guilty for a lesser prison sentence. Head coach is left holding the bag alone. Both son and mother flip on head coach for a lesser prison sentence.

They didn't get him into anything. Remember Fahie was recorded stating "This is not my first rodeo" bragging. Fahie has been in politics for a very long time and knows right from wrong. The problem is he got too comfortable thinking nothing could touch him and now licking his wounds.

Fahie and his useless Lawyer think they so clever. Better, bigger and richer than them try to find the Feds and ended up bowing.. Feds hardly lose.. Fed offer Fahie the first deal they added that new charge of " Traveling to the US with intent to commit a crime". That 3 yrs in prison that was added as part of the deal, he take the deal plea guilty to that and the rest get dropped, he refused. Playing hard ball and bad. He would have already served half that time...Now the table turn on him. Feds dont need him no more they are going to prosecute him for the max..

seems to be moving towards a long residence somewhere in the USA as a guest of the US government. Federal Bureau of Prisons has 22 penitentiaries all over the country for their convicted guests to enjoy the remainder of their incarcerated lives as punishment for their younger criminal lifestyle.

Instead of all this speculation some of you just need to drink a lot more water and mind your own business. The Maynard’s, AF and WB are not the only persons from the BVI who have been busted by the FBI. For right now, they are innocent until proven guilty.Time will surely tell.

A prisoner’s dilemma situation. A prisoner without knowing what other prisoner(s) is saying/planning must determine what is the best outcome, ie, 1) ride and die with the group or 2) pursuing a course that best for him/her at the expense of others. A decision has to be made without knowledge of what prisoner(s) is doing and what evidence the prosecutor has. It is a Hobson Choice. In this scenario, the turn of events are interesting and fascinating and seems to be favorable to the prosecution and less favorable for the defense. It is a sad story, game theory, but it is not a game. Greed and avarice reflecting poorly on families, individuals, and a country. A case of national betrayal, deceit, treachery, etc. Moreover. Often times, we learn more from losing, ie, doing the wrong things, etc, than winning. Will phoenix rise from the ashes? Will this sordid affair manifest into better politicians, more active and engaged electorate? Is there an oasis within this den of greed, avarice, selfishness, self-interest, etc desert?

In regards to this despicable, sordid alleged activity being a teachable moment, Harry say you will hear. There are valuable lessons to be learnt but we will see.

Prisoner’s dilemma indeed. Everybody act in self-interest and it may mean sacrificing the interest of others. That is human nature. Getting other accused to rat other accused(s) is standard investigation process in criminal investigation. People facing serious hard time will rat almost everyone out. They might not perhaps rat mom out; everyone is expendable. Of course the information provided must be credible and verifiable thru other sources. The head coach has a tough row to hoe, case needing to be presented and jury decides. He, family, friends, colleagues, country, etc is mired in this muck. Sometimes in life we must, must, heed the warning signs, taking sensible risks.

This is some psychological mumbo jumbo nonsense. When you lose, you ditch that game plan; what can you learn from failure or than to can the plan? When you win, you build on the success. In school, when you get an F or nought, the focus is not on that but rather on the A or 100. Is the focus on the wrong thing, was the approach wrong?

Id rat out too. Head coach been out on bail for over a year enjoying the freedom that she cant be afforded cause no one saw it fit to make the effort and bail her out the way coach was bailed out, but we must "work together" and "hold one head" at trial? Shes probably thinking, 'Every man jack to themselves'....
Besides, fat boy probably just thinking about his mom. If i was him, it take the fall just to get my mom back home.
