MIAMI, Florida, USA- As previously reported by Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), former BVI Ports Director, Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard has pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to import cocaine, following a similar move by her son Kadeem S. Maynard aka ‘Blacka' and now a plea deal entered over the indictment.

The duo had indicated they would be changing their plea to guilty today June 12, 2023, which resulted in Maynard appearing for a hearing today and also entered a plea agreement with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, according to documents seen by our news center.

Guilty plea to count one for Superseding Indictment

The document states, “The defendant agrees to plead guilty to Count 1 of the Superseding Indictment, which charges the defendant with conspiracy to import cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 963 and 952(a)."

The document added, “The defendant also understands and acknowledges that, for Count 1, the Court must impose a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment often (10) years' imprisonment, unless the defendant is safety valve eligible, and may impose a statutory maximum sentence of up to life imprisonment, followed by a term of supervised release of at least five (5) years and up to a lifetime of supervised release.”

Further, it said that in addition to a term of imprisonment and supervised release, the Court may impose a fine of up to $10,000,000 and may order forfeiture and restitution.

As part of the agreement, the document states that the Office agrees that it will recommend at sentencing that the Court reduce by two levels, the sentencing guideline level applicable to the defendant's offense. This is based upon Maynard’s recognition and affirmative and timely acceptance of personal responsibility.

Count to determine sentencing

The document further added, “If at the time of sentencing the defendant's offense level is determined to be 16 or greater, this Office will file a motion requesting an additional one level decrease pursuant to Section 3El.l(b) of the Sentencing Guidelines, stating that the defendant has assisted authorities in the investigation or prosecution of the defendant's own misconduct by timely notifying authorities of the defendant's intention to enter a plea of guilty, thereby permitting the government to avoid preparing for trial and permitting the government and the Court to allocate their resources efficiently,” it said.

The Maynards and ex-Premier of the Virgin Islands Andrew A. Fahie were arrested by US authorities on April 28, 2022, on drug and money laundering charges.

The sentencing for Mrs Maynard is still to be determined by the courts, according to the document.

I agree, she did the right thing. I don’t know why hard head Andrew don’t do the same and get it over with instead of wasting his money on an attorney that is not going to keep him from serving time. Andrew can go to prison for ten years or get life in prison.

From he be came premier he place everyone he need and can use in certain position to carry out his plan. I heard some one say that Maynard was more qualified for speaker and Esteme was more qualified for Port. This was suggested to Foy and he say "It will stay the way it is.". If he had taken advise all might have been well with all of them here living good, then again. That advise was going against his plan. So, sometimes you want to feel sorry for someone but you realize they are victims of their own doings

Really? Doing the right thing meant that she wouldn't have been involved in this mess in the first place and dragged Andrew along with her for the ride. The serpent brought the proposition to her, and she bit and then enticed Andrew to bite as well - now they and the rest of us in the BVI are reaping the consequences. I wish she had done the right thing in the first place and told the devil to flee!

Keep the expats out of the BS. The greedy B…h set her own self up. The ugly son got clipped by the Feds in St.Thomas while waiting for the shipment of cocaine and his mother and the big kahuna Andrew got clipped when they step on the Feds plane. I don’t feel any pity for them. Because of those three everyone that visit the USVI or the US mainland is being watched.

If you are are from or living in the BVI and you are traveling to the USVI or the US mainland for a vacation, shopping or other appointments the US law is not going to bother you unless they suspect something or you are doing something shady. But they do look at everyone who step off the ferry be it red hook or the water front and at the airport when boarding a plane to the US mainland.

Ain’t no darn expats set anyone up. Hell, they blame the expats for everything If her ugly disgusting greasy looking self was not greedy she would not be in the mess she is in today. If she gets a 10 year sentence she is more than likely turn lesbo like a lot of female prisoners does for protection while they are in jail. America prison is no joke. Wonder how WB is doing being among the real hard core gangsters. That flexing and control he had here on Tortola don’t fly where he is, those hard core gangsters will stomp on him like you stomp on a roach. No matter how tough he was on Tortola I bet he is crying in silence. You get caught in the US doing dirt you are going to pay the price.

As an expat, I take that as an insult towards the expat community living in the BVI, A EXPAT DID NOT SELL OUT THE TERRITORY, A EXPAT DID NOT SAT IN ST. THOMAS WAITING TO COLLECT AND SHIP THE DRUGS TO THE BVI, A EXPAT DID NOT STEP ON THE FEDS PRIVATE JET AND MADE CONTACT WITH THE FEDS MARKED MONEY IN DESIGNER BAGS. SO PLEASE KEEP US UP OUT OF THAT MESS THAT YOUR OWN KIND IS INVOLVED IN AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR.

@ So, you can't save Fahie who has to ride his own drowning rodeo. Best they keep far away from him and let him swim for himself. Everyone who was profiting in his family should have talked some sense into him years ago. This is what happens when you get too comfortable thinking you are Tephlon Don, and you see what happened to him.

@ well look story: Not a soul shaking in their boots in Tola. Those three persons committed crimes in the U.S and the U.S authorities dealt with them accordingly. Now, if they committed crimes in the BVI and BVI authorities don't want to go after them, that's a matter for BVI authorities. And we know how BVI authorities stay. So.. the fat lady and her son can sing all they want, call whoever names they want, but if those names haven't committed any crimes in the U.S, then even those who Head Coach bribed ain't have a thing to worry about because the U.S don't want them and the BVI don't have the time nor money to investigate them or worse yet, prosecute them.

Yes made a horrible mistake but people make mistake and hopefully learn from it

But how it sound no one in the district like her and so many of you well those I see does go by the bar and drink talk to her like ayo best friends

TOLA have to many 2 face people. However according to the post she was the one being two face with the people of the public.

Note the Bible said to forgive your brother 70 times 7 or something like

All I know the number so high it's impossible for someone to make you so upset that you can not find a way to forgive.

Instead of judging sit and have a conversation with the individual.

However I will leave with this.

If she is found to be guilty by law she should serve the time given to her but I hope she learn from her experience.

Prisoner’s dilemma at work. At the end of the day, everyone likes freedom and looks out for his/her interest even if it means throwing others under bus, running them over and backing up over them. The Maynard’s cop a plea, eyeing an opportunity to experience sweet freedom a little sooner. Actions, illegal actions, can have severe consequences, adversely affecting family, friends, colleagues, church members, social club members, co-workers, old classmates, country, etc. We must be satisfy with what we are earning honestly, developing action plans to earn more earnings honestly. Nevertheless, human nature is as such that no sooner than some of us are living good, we want to live extravagantly, willing, in some cases, to do what is needed to live the new desired lifestyle. What a sad precipitous fall for these folks. I will make a wild ass guess that the fall is extremely painful and embarrassing for the families. When tempted, one should always ask oneself “what if” ie, if one gets busted? Again, actions have consequences.,
