Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard confirmed as BVIPA MD

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands (VI) has confirmed the appointment of Ms Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard as the Managing Director of the BVI Ports Authority for the next two years.

Governor John J. Rankin, CMG, chaired the meeting held at the Financial Services Commission’s Conference Room.

According to the Cabinet Decisions of May 19, 2021, the appointment is with effect from March 18, 2021, in accordance with the BVI Ports Authority Board’s Resolution No. 37 of 2021 and Cabinet instructed that the Board review her performance annually.

Ms Pickering-Maynard previously served as Deputy Managing Director after an October 2019, appointment and then Acting Managing Director. She holds a BSc in Business and Accounting and a Certificate in Management.

In the 2015 General Elections, Mrs Pickering-Maynard in a bid for political office challenged Dr Kedrick D. Pickering for his then 7th District seat with the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) but was unsuccessful.
