ST JOHN’S, Antigua- The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States OECS Authority has reappointed Dr Didacus Jules to a fourth term as Director General, reaffirming its confidence in his leadership and his role in advancing the regional integration agenda.

The decision was taken during the 78th Meeting of the OECS Authority, where Heads of Government commended Jules for his service and contributions to regional development, cooperation and institutional strengthening during his tenure.

Jules has served as Director General since 2014 and has been credited with helping to advance a number of regional priorities, including food sovereignty, digital transformation, healthier communities and educational reform, while also strengthening the OECS’s capacity to respond to emerging challenges facing member states.

In announcing the reappointment, the OECS said the decision reflected continued confidence in Jules’ leadership at a time when the region is navigating an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.

Former OECS Authority chairman and Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Dr. Godwin Friday praised Jules’ leadership, public service and commitment to deeper regional integration and sustainable development.

“The decision reflects the confidence of the Authority in your leadership and acknowledges your valuable contribution to the advancement of the OECS integration agenda and the continued strengthening of the Organisation,” Friday said in remarks carried in the release.

“On behalf of the OECS Authority, I extend sincere congratulations on your reappointment and look forward to your continued service and dedication to the people and Governments of the OECS Member States,” he added.

The OECS said experienced leadership remains important as the organisation seeks to advance its vision of a more integrated, resilient and prosperous Eastern Caribbean.

The OECS Commission congratulated Jules on his reappointment and said it looked forward to continued collaboration in delivering meaningful benefits to citizens across the member states.
