Ocean Conversion BVI Ltd. Presents Sponsors BVI Team At The CUT Games in Jamaica

Road Town, Tortola, VI - Ocean Conversion BVI Ltd. continues its tradition of sound corporate citizenship through its sponsorship of the young BVI athletes as they head to Jamaica for the 2012 CUT Games this week.

Glenn Harrigan President of Ocean Conversion BVI Ltd. on Friday presented a cheque for the amount of $5000 to Cecil Hodge of the BVI Teachers Union. The funds will be used to defray the cost of travel and accommodation for the thirty eight athletes who will be travelling to Jamaica this week.

Mr. Harrigan explained the Ocean Conversion is "committed to the principles of corporate social responsibility and good corporate citizenship. We have implemented and are maintaining a sponsorship program that supports groups and organizations that focus primarily on youth in our community, encouraging them to excel in education, sports and cultural activities." He went on to say that “Ocean Conversion has always had a great affinity with the youth and sports and this sponsorship extends its support of both.”

Mr. Cecil Hodge President of BVI Teachers Union said “We are extremely grateful to Ocean Conversion for their assistance and support over the years. They have been a consistent partner to us as they were the main sponsors of the games which were hosted in the BVI in 2008 and then they provided much needed assistance again in 2010 when the games were hosted in St. Kitts. These young athletes have been feverishly preparing for the upcoming competition. These championships will bring provide them the opportunity to interact with their Caribbean counterparts for a few days of friendly competition, camaraderie and competition. We are all looking forward to the games and hope to bring back a good number of medals to make the BVI proud.”

Ocean Conversion (BVI) Ltd. produces potable water for the Water and Sewage Department of the Government of the British Virgin Islands, which in turn distributes the water to customers via pipeline. Sea water is desalted by using the reverse osmosis technology for the desalination process. The company has been operating in the Territory since 1991.
