ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Officers of the Major Incident Team today, February 22, 2023, charged one male in relation to last December’s murder of Kadeem Jimenez and charged another for firearm, ammunition, and drug offences.

Nyall G. George, 26, of Old Plantation was charged with conspiracy to murder Jimenez while both George and John Burgos, 24, of St Croix, USVI were charged with unlawful possession of firearms, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a controlled drug.

Police in a press release this evening said a search warrant conducted on George’s Hodges Creek residence uncovered three illegal handguns, a large quantity of ammunition and a quantity of illegal drugs. Both men were arrested at Hodges Creek.

The two men will appear in Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.

Kadeem Jimenez was fatally wounded in the early afternoon of December 12, 2022, after shots were fired in Major Bay, East End. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CoP Collins calls for public’s help

With the escalation in gun violence on the island of Tortola, Commissioner Mark Collins reiterated his commitment and that of the RVIPF in identifying offenders. He noted, however, that officers cannot do so alone.

“We need to present a united front against those who want to put us and our loved ones in danger and in fear. I urge anyone who has any information into the recent murders and the attempted murder on Saturday to come forward,” he said.

Persons can confidentially call the CrimeStoppers line 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas, call 1-284-800-8477 with information about any of the recent shootings or illegal firearms in the Territory.

These could be linked to the murder near UPs.

Could they and the unidentified one plus others who fled the scene set out to murder Hasani and/or his passenger?

This is just stupid the law is really there to dumb people down. Ask why is he charge with conspiracy to murder but they call me a conspiracy theorists. People wake up I told you a conspiracy is truth and they fancy it up. They are saying they have evidence that he had something to do with it and yes I am telling the truth when they say that the vaccine is meant to get rid of 70% herd immunity and that's facts just like the head line saying conspiracy to murder. Ask the million dollar questions who has the materials to make all these guns

@284: That question cannot be answered until the matter reaches to trial in high court. then it is all up to the nine jurors (if we're still using jurors by the time this case reaches the court). As it stands right now, criminal cases are taking years to reach trial.

Wasn’t he involved in conspiring to kidnap a relative in 2018?

How did he get out of prison to conspire to murder?

The arrest and charge of two suspects recently in the murder of Kadeem Jimenez and the discovery pf arms and ammunitions is a clear indication why the Police Bill is necessary. There was also the discovery of drugs during the arrest. With this in mind, the government needs to introduce measures to ensure that all perpetrators of crimes and possession of dangerous weapons should be taken off the streets.

This is a very serious matter, and the entire country should voice their displeasure of criminal activities. It would perhaps be a worthwhile idea if parents can ensure that their children cultivate positive attitudes that will ensure they have a brighter future.

Is it really the same guy because that was 2018, and the news then said he was 25, so I wonder how he is only 26 now, or is the 6 upside-down?

Well done! I hope that more of these scum bags will be identified, brought to justice and actually convicted. There are too many murderers walking around comfortably in our community (especially repeat offenders like this one).

A huge thank you to whoever assisted the police.

Mr.Collins. That is all fine and Dandy but your officers need to present that united front in the exercise and carrying out of their duties. They have to act and be seen to be acting within the legal aspects of the law at all times. They themselves should not be behind bars for illegal drug activities themselves.I'll just rest this here.

The Police is always accused of doing nothing and sometimes I think so to. What bothers me though when ever they do something whether it is an arrest or just conducting a traffic stop they are criticised of harassment or that they have the wrong person etc. It is as though some of us are secretly wishing that they fail. Many people especially victims of crimes are often the forgotten ones.

Hats off to the hard working men and women of the R.V.I.P.F, keep it up, you guys are doing wonders with the limited resources and stipend you receive for salary. Premier and Governor pay the police officers better, give them the necessary equipment and legislations to deal with these terrorists.

Arrested 2018 under multiple fire arm charges. Arrested in 2023 under fire arm charges and conspiracy to murder.
Next season out before you know it.

Two steps back one step forward conspiracy to murder = life lost. His crimes escalated who knows what else he got up to. Logically the system failed.

Plain clothes officers seem to be stepping up and getting things done...If we can just get more uniform officers patrolling the city in group of 2s.. 4 a day.. one 2 from Round about heading to Bobby's, across to the banks over to Pier Park back down to Traffic lights up to round about..Another 2 From The Market across to Rite Way, down Main street, to the hospital, then back up main Street cross over to Customs building up the Road, the cross over Ismart, up to Rite way again, then take a left, go up main street.. How difficult is this..? With this much officers this should be an easy task. This was done in the 90's with less than half the size on the force strength as it is now....Everyone has an excuse for not doing the right thing...
