NOAA revises 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season to ‘above normal’

- says likelihood of greater activity rises due to record-warm sea surface temperatures
Scientists at the US’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center which is a division of the National Weather Service have increased their prediction for the ongoing 2023 Atlantic hurricane season from a near-normal level of activity to an above-normal level of activity for the season. MIAMI, Florida, USA – Scientists at the US’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center, which is a division of the National Weather Service, have increased their prediction for the ongoing 2023 Atlantic hurricane season from a near-normal level of activity to an above-normal level of activity for the season.

Forecasters believe that current ocean and atmospheric conditions, such as record-warm Atlantic sea surface temperatures, are likely to counterbalance the usually limiting atmospheric conditions associated with the ongoing El Nino event.

“NOAA forecasters have increased the likelihood of an above-normal Atlantic hurricane season to 60% (increased from the outlook issued in May, which predicted a 30% chance). The likelihood of near-normal activity has decreased to 25%, down from the 40% chances outlined in May's outlook,” the NOAA said in a release over the weekend.

This new update, according to the NOAA, gives the Atlantic a 15% chance of seeing a below-normal season.

Forcast runs to Novermber 30, 2023

NOAA’s update to the 2023 outlook which covers the entire six-month hurricane season that ends on November 30, 2023, calls for 14-21 named storms (winds of 39 mph or greater), of which 6-11 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or greater).

Of those, 2-5 could become major hurricanes (winds of 111 mph or greater). NOAA provides these ranges with a 70% confidence. These updated ranges include storms that have already formed this season.

The Atlantic basin experienced an active start to the hurricane season with five storms that have reached at least tropical storm strength, including one hurricane already.

An average hurricane season produces 14 named storms, of which seven become hurricanes, including three major hurricanes.

Persons urged to prepare

“The main climate factors expected to influence the 2023 Atlantic hurricane activity are the ongoing El Nino and the warm phase of the Atlantic Multi-Decadal Oscillation, including record-warm Atlantic sea surface temperatures,” said Matthew Rosencrans, lead hurricane season forecaster with NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.

“Considering those factors, the updated outlook calls for more activity, so we urge everyone to prepare now for the continuing season,” he added.

Wake up people your to dumb for me. Ask yourself who is outside in the weather directing the storms straight to us. Don't say satellites because they don't exist. Prove is in the answer when you ask questions. If satellites exist what is keeping them up in the air because it doesn't have gravity because people does jump out of planes so that's proof. What goes up must comes down so that saying proves that the ELITES are tricking you. What you see doesn't add up to what you was taught if you just take the time to analyse the information these devil puppets give you. All storms are man made. If you ask your family who's older did they have storms like this and they will say no. As decades goes by the technology Changes alot. It's the end of this Earth the ELITES is setting up for the New World, which is the climate change substantible crap they are ushering in on humans. They can name the hurricane, give you a season, even after Irma they scared the dummies by extending the hurricane season and you think it came from the Almighty Creator Wow you all should be ashamed. That's why they can give you a man made vaccine and make billions of vaccines in 6 months and you all would believe them LoL. When you think you would know that it's no way you can get a vaccine so fast and have so many shots and boosters ready for you so fast.

Why didn't you continue your education after Kindergarten? You sound so juvenile! Weather is a science. Which means that it is based on facts not opinions. You can research it for yourself.

How the hell man could predict storms and winds speed... is like them writing a script and using a machine to execute it

@ all the sheep that commented did you look up any of the information? You book smart and when you're awake like me then you know the ELITES wrote those books that you learned from. I have education not a brainwash teaching. I don't have to go to school to know that someone besides our parents is running out lives. Our parents don't even have a say in their life. Do you see how hard your parents have to work just to pay bills. Do you see how sick out parents are after just working to take care of us. Do you know our parents don't want to work this hard but have no choice because they have bills to pay, food to buy etc. Stay sleep get up tomorrow and do what you want and see what will happen. Do what you want means don't go to work, don't pay bills, don't pay for nothing and see how far that gets you tomorrow then tell me you run your life. You have a rude awakening coming to you soon VIA the ELITES who own everyone and everything in this Earth. Challenge me if you can. The studies is that humans only use 20% of their brains but you clearly don't use that much.
