DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has said no marriage license was issued in the Virgin Islands for the same-sex wedding ceremony that took place on Necker Island in May of this year.

Dr Wheatley spoke on the issue while wrapping up the debate on the Motion for the establishment and composition of the Constitutional Review Commission during the continuation of the Sixth Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Fourth House of Assembly at Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom, Tortola on September 21, 2022.

According to the American monthly fashion and lifestyle magazine, Vogue, in a September 15, 2022, publication, a wedding ceremony between two men took place on Necker Island in May 2022.

“Of course, this event at Necker Island, there was no issuances of marriage licenses here in the Virgin Islands but, of course, they were able to have this event, this celebration, a ceremony et cetera.”

Dr Wheatley said the issue of same-sex marriage has become topical again because of the recent article in Vogue, but also later this month there will be a court case in which a same-sex couple who married outside of the Virgin Islands is challenging the local court system, “challenging our laws, whether our laws are constitutional in not recognising their marriage,” Dr Wheatley said.

Well tell me then, who created humans??? Did the create themselves. And if they came from a single cell then who created that cell. Wake up!!!!

Let consenting adults live their lives. BUT do not force me to accept their choices. They free to make theirs and I free to make mine. AND keep the little children out of the loop please. Peace.

I am happy that these two men had their ceremony in the BVI and to be featured in Vogue magazine is great publicity for our islands. Same sex marriages are equal rights. BVI is a UK overseas territory and it is just the matter of time same sex will be legal here. All these fake and hypocritical Christians need to take a seat. We are all human beings and should be treated as humans.

Same sex marriages are already legal. If a licence was sort, the Registrar cannot refuse to grant one and no religious organization has to be involved.

Is this really the will of VI-landers, or even Caribbean people? Thats more like colonialism when the establishment says you will be forced to marry gays and make it a part of your society and we will continue locking you up for weed -which is what your society really wants legalized as a first priority.

Note the difference in this situation, homosexuality is illegal, yet in BVI society people say to each their own and we dont throw stones at homosexuals like savages...

BUT yet our people get INCARERATED for a PLANT, cannabis which is also illegal & scientifically proven to be beneficial. Lunatics, its mental we go along with it.

Plus people need to remember at least before the hurricane Irma we are #2 in the world for the most churches per sq mile behind the Vatican so it is no idle question to ask if this is the will of VI society to put this into law meanwhile Genesis 1:29 is totally disregarded where freedom of religion is enshrined.

We've been so brainwashed the preachers dont know what to say about that verse and preach against the bible but many of them stay silent on the matter.

Beware my people! This article was deliberately done in this famous magazine to start an "ants nest" of a challenge to our legal system being that BVI laws do not accommodate same-sex unions and privileges. It seems that some human beings are in denial, including the Catholic Church, of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah of the Bible. It did occur and there is archaeological evidence to prove it. Another agenda is also afoot on the BVI which is to cull us to accept. Jehovah is real too and anyone against His laws of nature gets punished. The Bible says in Genesis, be fruitful and multiply. This new agenda is about depopulation. Read the Georgia Guide Stones of USA - population down to 500,000 million and the slated time is by year 2025. Then out of the blue - pandemic, Jab Jab and boosters globally, man-made hurricanes, rumours of wars, food shortages, drought etc. hhhhmmmm... Stay awoke, my people!

This country is not the same. Lawless, reckless and immoral society falling for every wind that blows. To each his own puppets on a string. Territory in trouble who will charter the BVI into the right direction?
