FISH BAY, Tortola, VI- The Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is yet to arrest or charge anyone in relation to the shooting at the DHL Office in Fish Bay on October 17, 2023.

Two persons were injured in the incident that occurred around 7:00 PM.

It is unclear at this time what were the circumstances surrounding the shooting; however, reports are that several rounds were discharged.

Up to 4:14 PM on October 18, 2023, no arrests were made in relation to the gun crime.

This was confirmed by RVIPF media liaison Akia L. Thomas. “No arrests or charges as yet,” Thomas said, and noted that she will update the media if the information changes.

The shooting adds to the already grave concern about escalating gun crimes in the territory.

    A deterrent is needed. 15 years in prison without parole if caught with a gun. Once a few are sentenced it will begin to stop. The lawyers who fight against this should get 20 years without parole for aiding and abetting.
