Night curfew will remain in place after lockdown- Hon Malone

“Well in terms of the 24-hour curfew, we have a particular condition where it is now being mandated until the 19th but we are going to call it 6:00am on the 20th and then we will go into a 12 or 13-hour soft curfew during the day,” Honourable Malone informed Prime Time Caribbean.
Phased approach to local business reopening
Honourable Malone added that the Government will try to "reintroduce critical businesses" and after the first 7 days other businesses will be allowed to return to operation, “so we will have internal movements only.”
He said the Territory’s borders will remain closed for 30 days.
“After the 30 day period, where we have 12 hours on and 12 hours at night under curfew, we will then be able to look in terms of reintroducing our citizens and our belongers and other persons into the Territory but this will have to be done in a phased approach so that we can have the proper quarantine time so that we don’t retard the progress we have made,” Honourable Malone said.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) had said on April 9, 2020, that the borders of the Virgin Islands will continue to remain closed even after the 14-day lockdown period has ended.
