ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Seventeen-year-old Niaeika Aymer, a student at Elmore Stoutt High School, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious 2026 Agriculture and Fisheries Exhibition and Market Theme Competition.

The competition was an initiative of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and was open to all residents of the Virgin Islands. It was held under the theme 'Unleash Your Creativity', and applicants had up to September 12, 2025, to submit applications. One individual could submit up to five entries.

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Aymer was honoured with a prize of $250.00 during a special presentation ceremony.

'Farming the Land, Fishing the Seas, Nurturing Lives & Legacies’

The award was presented by Mr Vernol Richards, a Veterinary Assistant at the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, in the presence of Agriculture Management Officer Mr Orville Clarke.

Mr Richards expressed his admiration for Niaeika's outstanding achievement, stating, “Congratulations Niaeika for the remarkable job. I encourage more youth to be involved in agriculture and fisheries. Niaeika submitted five entries and I was happy to be the one to have chosen her winning entry, which was ‘Farming the Land, Fishing the Seas, Nurturing Lives and Legacies’.”
