ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The National Hurricane Center’s 2:00 AM Tropical Weather Outlook for August 18, 2025, reports a large area of disorganised showers and thunderstorms over the eastern tropical Atlantic associated with a tropical wave.

Environmental conditions are conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression could form during the latter part of the week as the system travels westward to west‑northwestward at about 20 mph.

Current model guidance and the NHC indicate that this disturbance could approach the vicinity of the Leeward Islands on Friday, August 22, 2025.

The NHC assigns a near‑zero percent chance of development over the next 48 hours but a 50 % chance of formation through seven days.

Residents and visitors in the Virgin Islands should monitor this system throughout the week.

The Virgin Islands was affected last weekend by Hurricane Erin, which passed north of the territory as a Category 5 hurricane.

A storm pass 200 miles from us and the little rain and wind, Turn our roads into Rivers, No water, no Current, eroded Roads,..We cancel Cruise shio for Tuesday while other Caribbean Island had no ship cancellation. We are very fragile, don't take much to baxk us up, then again our Main Road are 10 to 20 ft from the Sea, we shouldn't have these drainage issues..
