New road lane coming in RT to connect to Waterfront Ferry Terminal
This is an ongoing effort by the Dr Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) Administration to ease the traffic congestion in Road Town, the capital city.
In an invited comment, Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) said, “The additional lane is to connect up the ferry terminal.”
It is believed this will help reduce the traffic backup, especially for residents and tourists traversing the roadway to depart for Virgin Gorda, St Thomas, or other destinations via the Road Town Ferry Terminal.
Potholes? Relief has come
Since taking office in 2019, the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Government under Minister Rymer has sought to address the traffic congestion issue in the capital city.
The subsequent ‘traffic turnaround’ in Road Town resulted in an easy flow of traffic throughout the capital city.
However, critics continued to raise the issue of the many potholes in the roadways.
Now that the asphalt plant is up and working there have been signs of significant improvements in reducing the many potholes on the road network.

fix the sidewalks and potholes.
Then yall gone n put asphalt on it let it harden with the bumps in it . That'll be one bump road when done . It would better serve as a pull off n parking for the park to be honest
A couple of wardens issuing tickets for drivers who park at non-parking zones would do the job and bring money in instead of cost Government money.
No person with a brain working at pwd architectural section. Or no one with balls to say. That make sense as the young people would say
