ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI-The Government of the Virgin Islands (VI), through its Asia Pacific Office, has established a new partnership with Rosewood Little Dix Bay Resort.

This collaboration will allow students from the Macao University of Tourism in Asia to intern at Rosewood Little Dix Bay Resort located in Virgin Gorda.

The announcement was made by Ms Siobhan Flax, Deputy Director of the Asia Pacific Office, during a special ceremony to award the latest recipients of the BVI Asia Abroad Scholarship, which took place on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Ms Flax expressed her excitement about the internship partnership, stating, “I am very pleased to announce this collaboration between Rosewood Little Dix Bay and the Macao University of Tourism. In practical terms, this means the university will provide scholarships for our students while we offer non-BVI students enrolled in the university the opportunity to intern at one of the finest hotels in the world. I am delighted that this institution is the first to participate in this internship programme.”

‘Highly significant’ collaboration

Meanwhile, Katya Herting, Managing Director of Rosewood Little Dix Bay, expressed her gratitude for being part of this significant milestone.

She stated, “I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the opportunity to support efforts that enhance education programs in hospitality for the BVI. This initiative will help ensure that young local talents, not just in hotel management, can join our industry and maintain the British Virgin Islands as a premier global destination. I congratulate all the scholarship recipients heading to Asia and those who have recently completed their studies.”

Herting added, “This collaboration is highly significant for Rosewood Little Dix Bay. Our entire team is proud to be the first internship provider in this educational programme. We are eager to support you in all your endeavours, especially in Hong Kong, which is where our main hotel brand is based. This partnership will cultivate opportunities for future generations of hoteliers to adopt a global perspective on hospitality and gain valuable international experience.”
