A brief ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, to mark the occasion and celebrate the artist’s work.
According to the BVIPA, in a press release on June 23, 2025, this is the second mural delivered through the Creative Waves and BVI Ports Authority initiative, which invites local artists to enhance port spaces with artwork that reflects the life, culture, and spirit of the Territory.
Mural created by local artist
Created by local artist Via C. Donovan-Hodge, the mural brings the theme, “Roots, Rhythm, and Revelry” to life, capturing the energy and cultural richness of the island of Jost van Dyke.
The Dog Hole Facility currently serves as one of the international ports of entry, making this installation a striking and meaningful welcome for residents and visitors of the Territory.
The BVIPA extended its appreciation to Ms Donovan-Hodge and all those who supported the project.
Through collaborations like these, the BVIPA continues to promote local talent while enriching the experience at its facilities with thoughtful public art, BVIPA stated in the press release.
