ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After being out of service for more than three years due to legal issues, the famous Lambert Beach Resort is now back in business with the word ‘new’ added to it!

Already being utilised by persons who may have known by word of mouth of the resort being back in business under new management since October, the facility will be officially opened to the public on January 14, 2013.

According to Manager of the resort, Yanaho A.C Leslie, the facility has been given a major facelift compared to what existed over the last three years. He added that work was done on the hotel rooms and pool among other areas. He added that the pool, which is arguably the largest in the Territory, is open to the public on weekends.

The return of the traditional Sunday brunch is also a major pride for the Resort, which is well known for its many vacation facilities including a beautiful club house, which can be utilised for various functions, playground facilities for children, a restaurant, swim-up bar, water sports activities and tennis courts.

According to the resort’s website www.lambertresort.com, a plethora of water sports and other activities are available, like sailing one of the resort's Hobie Cats, kayaking, fishing, boogie boarding along the beach, horseback riding. “Our remarkable swimming pool, with 450 square meters (5000 sq. ft.) more than 200,000 gallons of water surface, is the largest on the island. It features a children's pool area and a swim-up bar, complementary lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas are available for guests' use,” the website stated.

Lambert Beach Resort has 38 rooms and suites and offer three types of rooms, Beach Front Rooms are on the beach and face the water. Garden View Rooms face away from the beach into the gardens. Ocean View Rooms face the water, but are set back in the gardens. Units are in villas with several floorplans - some with suites and connecting doorways for those needing more than one bedroom. The rooms and suites have interiors with ceramic tiled floors, sand-hued walls, beautifully stained woods, and Spanish style roofs. Each has air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Whether you are in a garden view room or beachfront suite, all are designed to blend artistry with the barefoot, carefree nature of Caribbean living, the website stated.

The Turtle Restaurant at Lambert Beach has menus that are a mix of Caribbean favourites combining the best of the local cuisine with that of Europe and the Americas. According to the website, the prices are reasonable, and children under 12 may choose from a wide selection of items offered for them at half price.

“Food quality, presentation and service are always excellent. Our international chef will help the guests choose among international, Caribbean, Italian and French cuisine. The Sunday buffet is very popular with guests. The restaurant and bar is set within an open-air beachside terrace and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beachfront restaurant is really a beachfront restaurant, sitting on the beach as it does under the palms that tower high over it.”

The New Lambert Beach Resort currently has a staff count of 22.

Persons wishing to make reservations or requiring further information could make contact with the resort on 495-2877

this is excellent and adds to the hotel stock. It also maintains some of the smaller scale charm and avoids big concrete boxes and bling. The beach is great, quiet and natural. And I hope the nesting turtles are considered. I am so glad that the hotel chain (fronted by Vanterpool) fell through. Good quality boutique hotels are what the BVI should be promoting. Just look at the success of sugar mill and its awards.

I am glad. The BVI needs more resorts on Tortola, and the Lambert Resort has been an eye sore for years. I hope the relaunched venture is a successful one. I also hope they bring back their Sunday brunch.

I noticed last Thursday that about half the restaurant was "open" - the staff said since Tuesday, but it did not appear to be serving food, though tables were set. No sign of the beach activities except for a few chairs. Otherwise it looked the same to me as it has done each time I have taken visitors down there. If it is open for Sunday brunch that will be nice.
Who are the owners/managers? What is Hon Vanterpools involvement?

I am happy to learn that Lambert re-opens. Now that MV is no longer invloved, I also hope that Mr. L will not be back also, since he does not know how to talk to people and does not have any respect for his staff. Also, when it's time for the workers to get pay it's a problem and he has different people working.

I guess you do not know Mr L very well , one of the nicest persons you could ever come across , and yes , as the article says he is the one who is in charge of Lambert Beach Resort , judging by your blog you clearly did not read this article very well and you're just focused on spreading propaganda . Wish them all the success , glad to hear Lambert is reopening!
