GREAT HARBOUR, Jost van Dyke- The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) has said the construction of the Jost van Dyke Primary School is nearing completion.

The RDA did not provide a completion date but stated on its social media page on December 4, 2023, that this weekend marked a significant milestone as a major concrete pour was completed for the external works of the school – a multi-purpose educational facility.

"This signals a pivotal moment as we progress towards the project’s completion.

"With the external works now substantially completed, we are in the final stages and eagerly anticipate this project’s completion," the RDA stated.

The RDA said the interior works stand at an "impressive 95% completed" with all major components successfully executed.

"The new Jost van Dyke Primary School will soon be a reality, with a functional, modern new home for the Principal, Faculty and students of the institution and ample space to facilitate opportunities for the entire JvD community," the RDA said.

Students of the school were recently located to a school on Tortola, due to flooding and mold issues with the building that was being used by the students and teachers.

I am happy that the Jos t Van Dyke school building is finally will be finished for the new school term and the students will care it. I wonder what Hon Turnbull will have to say now. This is a government that is at work for the people of the Virgin Islands. We must be patient and ready to make sacrifice for the development of the country. V.I.P is a caring government as Hon. Omar Hodge would say. Long live the Virgin Islands.

As a big man I'm not please with the education received as a child when looking back at it. Especially, history religious education and science. Feel like taking some principals and teachers to court.

There is a rhetoric reality gap and it's growing all the time. Let it be known this government is working for the people so all the negative comments will not change that!!!
