BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI– With the motto, ‘Celebrating life, one family at a time!’, Majestic Life Funeral Home and Crematory Services Inc, is the Virgin Islands’ latest funeral home. It is located in Baughers Bay, Tortola.

In a small launch ceremony yesterday afternoon, March 8, 2023, Founders Bianca J. Dougan, Simon Power and Kimeli Rhymer-Hanley hinted that the business is looking to add class to the local funeral service industry.

The co-owners further added that given VI’s growing population, the business was also created because they felt there was a need for another funeral home in the territory.

Bringing families togehter

“We endeavor to cheer up and bring together family and friends as they celebrate the life of their loved ones… we will also ensure that the services we provide are not only genuine but reliable and superior,” Ms Dougan said at the launch ceremony.

Mr Power said the business is not just looking to be recognized as a funeral home but as an outreach center that can give back to the community.

According to the business's Facebook page, the funeral home will also provide families with information, guidance, and care during the bereavement process while they bring families and friends together to celebrate the lives of loved ones.

Journey has been 'expensive'- Power

Power in a vote of thanks said it was a long and expensive journey to get the business founded but they put their trust in God to make things possible.

The facility has modern funeral service equipment and also features a chapel capable of hosting funeral services.

As a healthcare provider I like the name. We make grand preparations for births so I think we should do the same thing to honor our loved ones in death. Death is part of life

When two restaurants in that area serve you their rotten chicken & roach fried rice, no need to call the ambulance, let them roll you over to the funeral home. I like it!

Sounds like a true hater. Probably a competitor. Regardless of your comment, those businesses are still thriving today. Congratulations to the restaurants around that have gained new customers from the businesses opened in that area (Paint Factory, Pet Shop, etc.). Congratulations to the owners of the funeral home on the opening of their business. Why can we not just be happy for eachother?

Of course another funeral home is needed. Covid19 showed us that, plus the way these young men are dying in the Wild Wild West, we need it badly. Sorry to say though. A crematorium is needed so we don’t have to go to St. Thomas and back. A crematorium is well overdue. Thank you all for thinking of the inconvenience we have with this.

I hate the location. Cant imagine bereaving over a loved one indoors of the location to soon come out and hear loud music from the restaurant/bar across, not to mention lack of sufficient parking for all nearby. Better dont have services on a friday evening or weekend for tht matter.
      Terrible location

Why is it that every time young entrepreneurs try something we come online to bash them instead of commending them for stepping up to the plate. Half of those who are talking I have a question for you. What have you done for yourself?

May God Bless your hands and minds and continue to what you are doing, do not pay attention to the negative.

The government has continually allowed the owners to use the government facility. How does a private business get to use the hospital and still charge the customer? Only under Marlon!
