ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As the Virgin Islands continues to reopen in a phased manner after shutting down due to the presence of the Novel Coronavirus, the virus that causes COVID-19, the curfew restrictions also continue to be relaxed.

It was on May 31, 2020, that Cabinet decided the curfew will run from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am to allow residents more time to exercise and undertake activity in the cooler parts of the morning and to allow people to prepare their business activities earlier.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) announced today, June 3, 2020, however, that there will be a further relaxing of the curfew on June 4, 2020.

According to Hon Fahie, he advised that the National Security Council (NSC) instruct the Attorney General to amend Curfew Order No. 20 of 2020 to move the curfew hours to 10:00 pm to 5:00 am effective June 4, 2020.

The Territory currently has no active cases of COVID-19.

“We have come this far by following the guidelines from the Ministry of Health and the Health Emergency Operations Centre. We have seen the positive results that kept everyone safe. Therefore, by continuing along this path, we will get through this together.

“We thank God for His continued favour,” Premier Fahie said in a statement.

Curfew still ? Oh so this is the new regular you was talking about, governmental control of the people stripping them of freedom but the people feel like you guys are working with us because you keep extending it. Why no mask no service if there’s no case, why not warn these people the pros and cons of wearing a mask, also do you guys read the instructions on these mask that said that these mask do not protect you from viruses ? This is the time to be thinking for one self everything ain’t as it seems

Give it a rest there's enough food in the sea, old time animals which they wanted to poison, can easily be re-domesticated for their daily egg drop and a whole bunch of other methods of survival. Never not once in BVI history was there a famine.

It is important to note while curfew is been lifted the Governor and government should make stipulations. Before there were some business places who wait until 7 or even after 7 to close. How is it that this is a curfew its disgusting. Charge them who continue to violate. We can't follow simple rules and continue to smile as thought nothing is wrong with it. Make it mandatory that all places must. I say must close at the least 1 hour before so that persons can be in their houses and homes by 10. Police won't have to do so much work stopping people burning out our resource personnel. If 10:00 PM meets you on the road your explanation better be legitimate. It's not time to play the fool after all we have experienced and sacrificed in the pass 2 months plus.
