NDP Spirit is a 'Selfish Spirit' – Claude O. Skelton-Cline

- Say party has a lack of trust, complete failure of its leadership

BAUGHER'S BAY, Tortola, VI – Following the release of the National Democratic Party’s (NDP) new ‘Commitment of Service’ on December 10, 2018, ‘Honestly Speaking’ host, Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline, has ‘called out’ the entire NDP, for being selfish and incompetent.

Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL)—who is also the territory’s Education and Culture Minister—along with party Deputy, Honourable Marlon A. Penn (R8), released the NDP’s new commitment on Monday, while criticising former party member, Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton (AL), for leaving the party solely because he lost the internal elections.

No Walkover

“Anybody who thinks that Myron and Mark… are walkovers [you] are in for a rude awaking… you should not take these guys lightly, these are real political guys,” Skelton-Cline said on the Tuesday, December 11, 2018 edition of his ZBVI radio show.

“Much of what you heard… about the new NDP and the new faces, it’s the same spirit… it is a selfish spirit, that we cannot allow ourselves to be deceived by in this territory, it’s been done to us once, don’t let them do it again,” the radio host warned.      

Mr Skelton-Cline further went on to say, that given the party’s history, he is in disbelief of their promises.

 “It’s a lack of trust, a failure of leadership, and here you come now, recasting, representing yourself as the best thing since sliced bread… people of the virgin islands, do not fall for this foolishness.”

New Covenant

Mr Skelton-Cline continued, “Myron raised the issue of a covenant with the people, and I’m saying to myself, do these people realise that they are the ones who have been in power for almost eight years now?” he questioned.

“What covenant now are you talking about… whatever contract or relationship that you all have had for the last 8 years have been breached.”  

“Our country is [now] thirty years behind than where we were before, and it begs to question… so don’t fall,” Skelton-Cline warned in challenging the people of the Virgin Islands (VI) to take note.

    I'm in total agreement! They think that we are totally blind and foolish. We will not continue to be overshadowed and be the laughing stock of the Caribbean. It's time for people to wise up and vote based on a territory wise perspective. Who will bring us out of these dark and grim days and shine the light we need to move forward. We all need to thrive, not only a selected few!

    Claude You are fighting for a BVI and telling the truth to a people who do not like you. They are grateful for the information. Glad that you are honestly speaking but they still do not like you for some unknown reason. Stop being used! the NDP used you in 2015 to win the election and then they threw you under the bus. You are a very articulate and intelligent young man with so much resources, use it where it is appreciated. The BVI is an ungrateful community.

      Unknown reason? Could it be he himself cannot be trusted? The Love of money got him angry. Poor soul has lost his way, come home to Jesus... If you were just as passionate for the works of God as you are for politics imagine the difference you would make in society. I am very disappointed, and I hope you wake up soon.

    Brandy wine Bay Beach . Fat Hogs Bay Sea front high way..Green Houses. Purcell Ghut. .Hospital Pier Park. Air line.Consultations. Walls . Rent.. can go on and on. All these things we didn't get value for money .wasted money .millions real millions . Seems like all these politicians are the same give our money to their friends or their secret company .
