VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Loyalty will have to take a back seat it seems, as the National Democratic Party (NDP) seems to have moved on from former legislator Dr Hubert O’Neal in favour of Coy W. Levons, the Former Director of Civil Aviation in the Ministry of Transportation, Works, and Utilities.

Information reaching our newsroom from sources in the NDP is that Mr Levons was the most popular choice.

Dr O’Neal was defeated in the 2019 elections by incumbent Ninth District Representative Hon Vincent O. Wheatley.

It remains unclear what platforms Mr Levons be campaigning on or his plans for the Ninth District.

Sources close to the NDP speaking to our newsroom on condition of anonymity have claimed that the NDP’s is racing to full their 2023 Elections slate with candidates as the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) last evening completed their slate with the full 13 candidates.

The party, desperate to reach a full slate, has reportedly been approaching declared Independent candidates to run on its ticket.

Desperate NDP?

The NDP and Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM), which was a breakaway of the NDP prior to the 2019 elections, held talks for a merger but failed to reach an amicable agreement.

Reports are the two parties could not all agree on either Ronnie W. Skelton or Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8) leading the party into the 2023 elections.

Imaging Tomorrow Friday, 3 ships in Road Town 1 in Jost Van Dyke and none in Virgin Gorda. Imagine that. VG with two Reps, more historical venues and a world class beach.. Imaging that..Is it deliberate to cut the regular taxis on VG out and hand all the bread to the two Ferry people..??

I wish he was running at large is also my sentiment. But it is best to give your district the support they needed. I want you always believe that God give instructions, ways and methods to Kings and kingdom. Be humble in all that you do. Be the change you want to see in this world.

Didn't Marlon think that there would have been no elections. While he was praising slowman the same slowman was getting his team together. If he didn't Qantas to look bad she should have joined with Skelton nothingness and let him lead. This is a real embarrassment it shows that this boy just not ready for the big game. 4 years to get his house in order and at the eleventh hour finds him lazy self scrambling. I really don't like Allen because he is anti expats but my mind is aaying give him a chance. Who could ever believe that there was someone slower than slowman. Shame I shame we shame.

Bless Hubert. He has finally stopped living in his father’s shadow. Hopefully this bright young doctor can use his celebration party money on himself this election season instead of tossing his hors d'oeuvre in the pool is blissful anger and disappointment. No free meals and drinks on him this election season.

Who convinced you to get in this mess where chances are slim to non?

Before you make these decision you must come to the people in advance not when it is the brink of election. This never works so they just using you.

You are a good man but am unknown politician wannabe.

Coy is a good guy. All the best to him. Not too sure about the ticket he running under, questionable characters. But looking at you independent of who is on the team I can say you do not live here but you are passionate about the issues and you have knowledge of them

VIP will have the most seats of all the parties, 5-6 the most but they will not win 7 seats. The other parties will come together and get rid of VIP... So its going be the same old way either Ronnie or Marlon will be Premier. .

I voting Levons can’t trust Vincent nor Flax as both of them joined with HC to rob this territory. They must not be given a next chance, unless we are all corrupt.
