BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Host of Honestly Speaking, Pastor Claude O. Skelton-Cline is not giving up his belief that Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6) may not be all in with the National Democratic Party (NDP).

Mr Skelton-Cline has constantly called out the former Opposition Leader, who in early 2025 formed what was called The Alliance with Hons Melvin M. Turnbull (R2) and Stacy R. Mather (AL).

Hon Mather has since crossed over to the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) government, while Hon Turnbull now sits as Deputy Chair of the NDP.

Hon Walwyn lost the Deputy Chair position to Hon Turnbull during the NDP convention in April 2026. While other members have said publicly that the party is “united” and “strong”, Hon Walwyn’s absence from the NDP’s radio show and recently launched podcast has been noticed.

NDP leadership afraid to ask

Mr Skelton-Cline, during his show on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, suggested that former legislator Mr Mark H. Vanterpool and his People’s Leadership Movement (PLM) are hoping to form the next government in the Virgin Islands as a coalition with rogue NDP members.

The Sixth District and Hon Walwyn, Mr Skelton-Cline claimed, is one of the seats Mr Vanterpool has his eyes on.

“The NDP, with its lacklustre leadership and its cowardliness, would not even demand, with some set timeline, that the member of the Sixth declare where he really is.”

He added, “Or they are so afraid to ask the question because they don’t want to know the answer.”

Mr Skelton-Cline accused the NDP leadership of doing what all men do and “avoid the issue”.
