NDP is in a hurry! - Hon. O’Neal
Asked by Virgin Islands News Online recently about his thoughts on the NDP administration over the past five months in office, Hon. O’Neal only said “They are in a hurry. Let’s hope they can get through with their plans as it would be for the benefit of the country.”
Over the past months, Government has revealed intentions of extending the cruise ship dock, having a new airport runway extension, building its own sewerage treatment plant, constructing a new vendor’s village, and completing the New Peebles hospital in 18 months among other things.
The former Premier has chosen to not speak much on the performance of the NDP so far and in fact hadn’t much to say about the recent National Budget either as he only said he believed the Budget would have been a well thought out one.
Hon. O’Neal has even refused to take up 1st District Representative Hon. Andrew Fahie’s recent challenge to him to defend his record as former Minister of Finance amid continued criticisms that the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) left the country broke.
The long-serving politician told Virgin Islands News Online that he was in no mood for a war of words but that the public would see and “get a chance to compare and see the difference between the two administrations”.
The VIP lost the November 2011 General Elections to the National Democratic Party (NDP).
