National Thanksgiving Service set for Fri, Jan 1, 2021
Premier and Minister of Finance Honorable Andrew A. Fahie, in recognizing the day as a new beginning for the Government and people of the territory said the Virgin Islands cannot go anywhere without God.
“He has been and continues to be so good to us. I make no reservations about this. We are where we are because of His grace and goodness,” the Premier said.
Word of the event was first announced by Premier Fahie during his December 24, 2020, holiday message to the people of the territory.
The service is scheduled for Friday, January 1, 2021, at the Queen Elizabeth II Park from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Myriad of spiritual activities
The Premier in his Christmas message said, “This time for God is important and will be focused on offering up waves upon waves of thanksgiving and praise. We are going to celebrate God’s goodness and seal our faith and future in Him, from whom all blessings flow.”
According to a release from the government information service (GIS), A Aime of Praise and Prayer is based on the scripture of Chronicles and activities planned will include prayer and praise for thanksgiving, continued protection, praise and triumph, and prosperity.
The Praise and Thanksgiving Service is an initiative of the Government of the Virgin Islands, started by the Fahie administration in 2019.

Self pride blinds true wisdom, and without true wisdom, life has no flavor. You are like the animals of the wilderness, Living by Instincts, and surviving on tasteless food with no flavor added...living without true understanding is a great handicap. Just because an animal cannot reason that it lives in the dark woods, does not mean that darkness does not surround it, nor does it mean that there does not exist, something greater than itself that sustains it within and outside the boundaries of it’s surroundings. The prideful, unwise man calls this all nature... but we know Him as Jesus the Christ!
