Murder-accused Erick A. Rabsatt’s extradition to VI delayed by ‘medical emergency’

According to sources close to the situation, however, Rabsatt suffered a “medical emergency” and his arrival in the Virgin Islands via aircraft was delayed.
It is now unclear when Rabsatt will be brought to the VI and handed over to local authorities.
The murder suspect reportedly remains detained by ICE in Miami.
Arrested by US Border Patrol
Rabsatt was apprehended by US Border Patrol in April 2025. In a Facebook post on April 30, 2025, US Border Patrol said its Special Operations Group arrested a fugitive with an “Interpol red notice for murder out of the British Virgin Islands”.
It said the suspect, a Dominican Republic national illegally in the US, bolted as agents approached.
The 23-year-old, according to US Border Patrol, ran through steep hills and thick brush in attempting to evade arrest.
Fatal accident charges
Rabsatt was also charged on March 15, 2021, in relation to the accident that claimed the life of motor scooter rider Ryan Adams, 20, at Duff’s Bottom, Tortola, on October 23, 2019.
He was charged with Causing Death by Dangerous Driving and Perverting the Course of Justice.
Rabsatt had allegedly fled the scene of the accident but turned himself over to police days later.
