SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- The recently held Virtuous Crowns: Women of the Word showcase has been dubbed a success by Event Chairperson Mrs Karia J. Christopher.

Mrs Christopher told our newsroom that the event held at the Sea Cows Bay Methodist Church on Saturday, November 1, 2025, “was nothing short of inspiring. The church was filled to capacity with well over 350 people- a beautiful sight of fellowship, worship, and celebration.

"The joy, excitement, and spiritual energy in the room were evident as participants and supporters came together in one accord to glorify God," she added.

Highest overall points to Ms Tammi T. David

The event saw four women ambassadors representing their respective congregations and the Methodist Church Circuit with grace and excellence.

Ms Tammi T. David of Purcell Methodist Church portrayed Miriam and walked away with the overall highest points.

She was followed by Mrs Phillipa Barry of Sea Cows Bay Methodist Church, and her portrayal of Hannah.

Mrs Messena Vanterpool Pompey of East End Methodist Church, who portrayed Deborah, and Mrs Portia S. Stoutt of Road Town Methodist Church, who portrayed Mary, the mother of Jesus, also gave wonderful and inspiring presentations, Mrs Christopher revealed.

“Each ambassador showcased their faith and creativity in powerful ways.”

Expectations surpassed

“Virtuous Crowns was truly a resounding success- to God be all the glory!… The goal of Virtuous Crowns was to draw souls closer to Christ and to show that learning about God’s Word can be both fun and creative,” Mrs Christopher added.

She said Virtuous Crowns exceeded their expectations and proved to be not only a community engagement but also a reminder of the joy found in serving and learning about Christ.

“We continue to encourage everyone to find a church family- and of course, we warmly welcome all to join us at the Sea Cows Bay Methodist Church every Sunday.”

She thanked the team whose hard work, dedication, and prayerful commitment made this event possible.

Mrs Christopher said, given the overwhelming response and the positive impact on the congregations and wider community, they are “prayerfully considering making Virtuous Crowns an annual event”.

This showcase of Virtuous Crowns - Women of the Word, was so inspiring, so refreshing. All the ladies were winners and represented/depicted their chosen biblical female character well. Hats off to all four ladies and we are looking forward to this being an annual event. Totally enjoyed this spiritual event. It was fun!
