ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In an extremely scaled-down way, Ms Donyelle D. Hodge was coronated as Miss BVI 2025 on Friday, July 25, 2025.

She was crowned during the official opening ceremony of the 71st Emancipation Festival at the Charlie Neil Frett Festiville.

While the pomp and flair of a queen show was out of the question this year, due to low registration and disinterest from young women in the Territory, Ms Hodge was crowned before a screaming and applauding crowd by Miss BVI 2024 Adacia R. Adonis.

Ms Hodge was the First Runner Up in the 2024 Miss BVI Pageant.

Junior Minister for Tourism and Culture, Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith justified Ms Hodge’s coronation as the new Miss BVI by saying in June 2025 that “she actually went through the pageant, she participated in all the categories and she was judged, so we’re comfortable enough to say we can crown her, coronate her as Miss BVI 2025.”

Miss & Mister Junior BVI

Ms Kaijaanique E. Hendrickson was crowned Miss Junior BVI, while Mister Junior BVI is Recado R. Palmer.

This year’s Emancipation Festival is being held under the theme ‘Uniting Our Culture, Freedom, and Joy in the Virgin Islands for Festival 2025’.

Activities and events continue this evening, Saturday, July 26, 2025, with the Calypso Competition.

Emancipation festivities will end on August 9, 2025.

I also congratulate the two mentioned names and the Prince and Princess. They worked and earned their titles. Their crowns and titles was not handed to them on a silver platter like someone else.

You are bitter and envious but you will get over it. No matter how you show out against the decision, it stands.

In my opinion, she won the title last year but it was erroneously handed to someone else. They realized their gross mistake last year so this move is to correct it. Dondon, dont mind the noise of the jealous haters who dont have a life of their own

Let’s think about this logically, if she “won” the title last year why didn’t the officiating judges award her the title?

I think your name contradicts your point.
