Mrs Zubida K. H. O’Neal-George tipped to be ETPS principal

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Word reaching our newsroom from senior Ministry of Education officials is that long-time educator Mrs Zubida K. H. O’Neal-George will replace Ms Ashkisha N. Maduro as principal of the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School (ETPS).

It was first and accurately reported by our newsroom that Ms Maduro will become the new Principal of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) beginning in fall 2026. 

Mrs O’Neal-George, an ancestral Virgin Islander, holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership. She served as a Math Instructional Leader for over three years during her time at the ETPS. 

She is best known for her leadership and talent in coaching teachers on how to teach Mathematics and help students at all levels reach their academic goals in Math. 

Many residents of District Three, along with the Parent-Teacher Association and other prominent alums of the ETPS, praised the decision and said it was a great choice.  

The new ETPS Principal, Mrs O’Neal-George, is expected to start her new duties on September 1, 2026.

ETPS can boast of some prominent alums such as Karia J. Christopher, Director of Communications and former Director of Trade and Consumer Affairs (deceased), businessman Dion A. Stoutt, Managing Director of STO Enterprises, businessman, former Permanent Secretary & Speaker of the House of Assembly and Special Advisor to the Premier Julian Willock, Attorney, and former Financial Secretary Glenroy A. Forbes, businessman and former advisor to two Premiers Kevin C. Smith ‘aka’ OJ, former Government Minister, Attorney and current Six District representative Hon Myron V. Walwyn, Mr Wade W. Tobin, Principal of the BVI Seventh Day Adventist Schools, and Chairman of the Teacher’s Service Commission, and Attorney, poet and trust company executive Sonjah S. Smith among countless others.

    Very good.
    I would like to ask the Premier, Deputy Premier and the Minister of Works what is happening to the Palestina to Heavers road. The dust and dirt are killing us and there is no work being done on this segment of the road. Work is on-going on all other segment of the road except for this one. THE DUST IS KILLING US.
