Surely archer understands what it means to give someone else a chance. What call this woman holding this post. Makes no sense. Nothing will get done. Let she stay in retirement.

If jealously was a crime all of you would be locked up, 'crabs in a bucket mentality'.

I notice people only cry, "crabs in a bucket mentality" after they have gotten out of the "bucket" or have never been in the "bucket".

unfortununately all you can work for is a salary. theres no need to dream or aspire to the highest position in the force. Its a career choice that automatically say youll never be good enough. You can be all you can be after you done do 25 on these plains. So much for motivation

Many of the young persons you are referring too are as corrupt as the cops, helping out their police friends.

I think this lady can do a great job. She understands the Public Service. She should be strong and dont allow the police hierchy to dictate to her our the rest of the body as how to run. The last chair took too much crap from the black guy who dictated to the white one, who listens to no one else but him. Ms. Adams take charge of the Police Force and initiate a COI starting from the top.

If you or your children are an example of the mental progress of the youth population, then we should be forever grateful for the kindness and wisdom of Mrs. Adams and others like her. Shame on you!

Why do you all keep resurrecting the dead? This is a slap in the face of all the up and coming stars in the Civil service. When will the youth get to contribute to the development of this country? I love Ms Adam's but come on! This is utter BS!

The youth will get a chance when they get some respect!!!!!! She positioned Mr. Archer and many other young people before she retired. They have reapect and they are humble. Young people need to learn to earn their strips not just think things are handed to them. Which young person is qualified and not bias. A job like this takes wisdom un biased judgement and opinions and experience. Not just qualifications and people looking accolades and strips. SHE IS THE WOMAN FOR THE JOB!!!!! Hopefully she has some young people on the baord she can groom.

It is no wonder that we are going to hell in a hand basket full speed. Young people have to first learn about RESPECT, for it goes a long way. We are seeing the results of the young 'leaders' who are using their platforms to promote independence although our territory is so far from this goal that it is hilarious.

Take kindly the counsel of the years and learn from those who are willing to give sound advice and expert leadership. With this mindset, we can go places. Right now we are like a runaway train heading off the track and we need to examine ourselves, reflect on what (and who) got us in this festering mess, and devise steps to move forward and in the right direction.

Congratulation, Mrs. Adams. Your leadership style is a breath of fresh air in these turbulent times.

What is the purpose of PSC when they have virtually no authority? They do not hear cases. The CoP has the real power all PSC is rubber stamp. Get file, Stamp file and Pass it on to the HGO.

This is why this country can't be no better. WHY CAN'T A VIBRANT, ENERGETIC YOUNG PERSON GET SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY???? SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT YOU LOOKED HIGH AND LOW AND BEHOLD, THERE IS NOT ONE YOUNG PERSON WHO IS QUALIFIED ENOUGH TO TAKE ON THIS CHALLENGE? THIS IS AN INSULT TO EVERY YOUNG PROFESSIONAL PERSON IN THE BVI. YOU HAD TO CALL SOMEONE OUT OF RETIREMENT? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF RETIREMENT? THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!

And the Cycle continues! The DG should feel aways. He was giving the Chance, so why not another? Atleast let a young person be a Shadow and understudy the Retiree. How many paychecks can a Pension Holder receive from Government?

        SMH,
You got the right ideas, if a retiree mentor and nurture a younger person Three to five years or more about their profession it will fill the gap when the move on. It is wise for her to have an assistant and nurture that person to further development.

You are correct. After searching “high and low” a suitable person could not be found.

50 years in public service and Yall still wanna work her bones?? I hope when I'm 50 years in Yall don't tell me ish bout going home! What's the sense in implementing a retirement age if Yall don't let the people retire in peace!! This is why us young people will always feel stuck, we will grow up and do this same nonsense! This is why there are no ladders to climb! Yall busy putting "reserved" signs on the steps ahead! Let someone else get some experience nuh!? The marathon continues!

She is to blame because she could of rejected the offer. She and others afraid of their home...get a hobby...mentor a youth so many other things this lady could of done instead of being a stumbling block and preventing others from making their contribution.
