Mrs BVI show pushed back to February 2021
Event organizers said the pageant will now be held sometime in February next year because of the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
The show was initially planned for March 28, 2020, at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at H. L. Stoutt Community College in Paraquita Bay.
Rosita N. Scatliffe-Thompson, Stephanie A. Brewley and Felicia Tonge-Fenton were the contestants vying for the Crown.
Addressing the issue via a social media post, the committee said, a meeting was held recently to discuss the “current situation due to restrictions on the Territory and the global pandemic that are affecting the ability to host events with mass gatherings.”
“The decision was made to defer the fundraising event and the selection of Mrs British Virgins Islands Globe, Curve and Classique to February 2021. Our plans were to launch something new, something fresh however we need you to hold on for it in 2021.”
The committee also decided to open candidacy until July 31, 2020, for persons who are interested.
Turnbull’s reign extended
In the meantime, reigning Mrs British Virgin Islands, Shondrea N. Turnbull will remain the representative until next year.
Turnbull placed sixth in the Mrs Globe Pageant held in Shenzhen, China in December 2019.
The pageant is a fundraiser for Women In Need BVI (WINBVI).

They could’ve done better
2020 ain’t it we don’t need these pets representing us.
Thanks to the organizers for extending the opening for serious candidates who could represent the BVI. Ms. Thompson could stand a chance but the others nah.
