ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Mourant, a law firm-led professional services business, has advised Stillfront Group, a powerhouse of gaming studios, on the BVI law aspects of the acquisition of Six Waves Inc, a BVI company, for initial consideration of US$201 million plus an earn-out capped at US$100 million.

The deal was signed on January 19, 2022, and is due to complete on 31 January 2022.

The acquisition of Six Waves, a leading publisher of mobile free-to-play strategy games in Japan, strengthens Stillfront's presence in East Asia and will contribute several top-grossing long lifecycle games to their portfolio.

The Mourant team was led by Corporate Partner, Ian Montgomery, supported by Martyn Heyes and Kelly Reed.

DLA Piper advised Stillfront on Swedish, Hong Kong, Japanese, PRC, English and UK aspects of the transaction and EY advised on tax due diligence. Morrison & Foerster acted for the sellers.

Partner Ian Montgomery commented, "We are delighted to work with Stillfront on this exciting deal and to continue to build our already strong relationship with DLA Piper. We are looking forward to working with the parties to complete the deal before the end of the month."
