That person in the jeep wrong. Looks like they come out of Riteway and cut over and that is not right.

The sign is posted not to go across and that car like so many others cut across so they won't have to go to the roundabout. The car was in the wrong.

That sign is in the wrong place. Should be at the exit from riteway saying “left turn only”. Not to say that the driver wasn’t in the wrong, they were BUT the road signs are not clear. The “do not enter” sign in its current position should be obeyed by all motorists and is not clearly marked to just be for those exiting riteway.

Base on the position of the vehicle the driver is dead wrong seems like they were coming out of rite way to go straight across to get to the road that goes the opposite scooter rider is in the right a vehicle cannot cross straight over.

Yep! The sign is posted not

There's a clear do not enter sign there coming out from Rite way.

It isn’t clear though. Every day people make that crossing. The driver was in the wrong but the signage isn’t clear. There needs to be a sign at the exit saying left turn only. The police need to put cameras there. No one obeys the current sign. In its current position, no one should be using that road whether coming from the highway or riteway. It is unclear. That being said, the driver was, most definitely, in the wrong.

We all know that you are not supposed to cut across the two lanes of traffic at that exit.
We all know that you have to go East to the roundabout then come back West.
There is a sign posted there and when the police are actually doing their job you can get a ticket when you try to disobey the sign.
Poor driving is poor driving and by what I see in that photo that driver knew what he was doing was dangerous.

Iit's clear enough. Do not enter means just that.

What I find intriguing is that most people can begin to assess who is in the wrong from the photo alone. What is the moral of the story? STOP SPRAYING THE BLEEDING ROAD. IT MAKES ZERO SENSE. PLEASE EXPLAIN THE LOGIC! Take pictures. Attend to the victims. Clear the damn road and keep the traffic moving!!!!
    • duh! (14/12/2023, 12:16) Like (1) Dislike (2) Reply
Of course you can begin to assess from the photo alone. It shows the position of the vehicle traversing both lanes and inferences can be drawn from this. It is contemporaneous evidence.

So as a scooter rider or what ever driver u are, you see a vehicle in the distance and just ram into it just because they are in the wrong. Ok then. I love my bike riders but common sense tho. Slow down. An accident that could have clearly been avoided.

You ain't making any sense with what you saying about the scooter rider. How is the rider to Avoid the accident? Do you know how fast he was going? Call a spade a spade and call out the driver for blatantly disobeying the rules of road and causing a serious accident. Call out the many drivers who have no respect for scooter riders using the road. Your biased comment makes me think you're one of those people who blame scooter riders for every accident, even when the evidence shows otherwise.

Check the damage on the bike and the vehicle and tell me he wasn’t speeding. U in denial. U know how much accidents I personally avoid at the roundabout? I have the right of way so i crashing into any and everything in my way? Rubbish. Anyway I gone so.

Sad situation and I wish pardna a speedy recovery.

on the dual carriageway is 20 mph. Due to the bike under the SUV one vehicle was speeding. Which one??
    • Citizen (14/12/2023, 07:11) Like (5) Dislike (0) Reply
20 mph can not be the correct speed limit for the carriage way. Trying to not go over 20 mph alone will cause an accident. I could understand 30 mph. Then they can actually ticket people going over the speed limit without sounding and looking dumb. Not even the police drives at 20 mph on that road. Please let’s stop accepting absurdity as if it’s normal. I also never understood the do not enter sign. It’s not a clear command for those coming out of Rightway. We only know what it means since persons have been ticketed there before. A tourist won’t have a clue what it means and in a court of law, there is a high chance they would win. Then again absurdity reigns in this place.

You see even though the speed limit is posted from bottom go up and visa versa, everyone calling the carriageway a highway so everybody want to be Speeding without due care

If it's the same rider who was doing a wheelie from the post office this afternoon, I was at super val-u observing him , and he had looked good too even going through the stop light at treasure isle which was green , I had a feeling and said to myself I hope he don't run into something up the road ( and it was not a wish ) OK. Then three sets of scooters with two riders
on each of them passed up shortly after then not too long after there were two police cars and an ambulance with sirens blasting passed in a rush going up there ( I don't know who hit who either ) , so am not going to speculate , but the position of the car seems to be at fault , and whether right or wrong he is who will be feeling the pain

It's sad. Hope the guy lives. Had she obeyed the two signs across the road feom the exit, which says NO ENTRY, that accident would have been avoided. It could have easily been a death and later a manslaughter charge and prison sentence because of disobedience. I hope the be a lesson for others. It's simple, if you want to turn by Delta, then exit on FSC road and then turn by Delta. The other exit is for persons want to go left only and nothing else. A WORD TO THE WISE IS SUFFICIENT.

The "no entry" sign is nonsense.
If someone does not know what it means and they see people coming from west entering all the time.
Sign facing RTW exit should read "left turn only"

When people here drive like idiots not respecting traffic rules. They need to ban all vehicles from the Island. Let everyone walk where they have to go and the ones that can afford it get a donkey and a cart.
