Many scooter riders are still riding without a helmet and when the light is red by the traffic lights, they zoom past. So, I dont think ant of us are surprised by the accidents. When they get their bigger bikes, we shall watch as many of them ride straight to their deaths

Are we sure this is not the truck drivers fault? What could the scooter driver have been doing wrong? I am so sorry that all of us on the road will have to carry the memory of scooter riders killing and injuring themselves in front of our eyes. Please stop this. Please stop this. And for those wondering - the answer is not to take all the cars and trucks off the road. There is another answer.

The roads of the BVI are not suited to motor cycles. There is inadequate licensing and control. The police force appears to be afraid to enforce the law. The motor bikes are a noise nuisance and a hazard. Deaths of riders are becoming commonplace. Certain individuals are profiting from their importation. The government seems to be in the grip of the importers and puts their profit over young peoples lives. How many more will die if nothing is done. We didn’t have these things until a few years ago. We don’t need them now. Ban them.

Looks like the truck drove accross into the scooter's lane...but of course the rider gets the blame.
