NASSAU, BAHAMAS – High Jumper Jah'kyla Morton has won Silver for the Virgin Islands in Under-17 Girls High Jump at the 50th CARIFTA Games, 2023, to secure the first medal for the territory.

In the U17 High Jump, as part of the games being played at the Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas, Morton’s 1.70m was just enough to put her ahead of Jamaica’s Shanniqua Williams 1.65m with bronze, however, Jamaica’s Asia McKay with 1.73m took the gold.

Meanwhile, VI sprinter J'Den Jackson has advanced to the semi-finals in the 100M with a 2nd place finish and a time of 11.13.

These CARIFTA games represent the largest junior track and field competition in the region with a representation of 28 countries from around the Caribbean, to celebrate strength, resilience, talent and pride of local athletes.

    Yes they have arrived in the Bahamas and they were given the chance to run time trials to see if they would qualify .
