ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are approaching the territory.

That’s according to the weather update from the BVI Department of Disaster Management (DDM) this morning, Saturday, October 18, 2025.

“Doppler radar has indicated moderate to heavy showers approaching the territory along with some isolated thunderstorms.”

These showers, the weather report added, could lead to excess runoff and increase the risks of flooding and lightning.

“This means that flooding is possible in low-lying flood-prone areas along with lightning strikes.”

Exercise caution

Mortorists are advised to exercise extreme caution and to be on the lookout for possible rockfalls in elevated areas and ponded or flooded roadways,

Residents are also urged to remain vigilant and alert as these unsettled conditions could “linger for a while today”.

The DDM is continuing to monitor these conditions and will provide required updates.
