‘Mitch’ Turnbull takes early swing @ 2nd District Rep

Turnbull, who is running under the National Democratic Party (NDP) banner, also took an early swipe at Hon Christopher, accusing the long serving district representative of being hardly "visible" to the people.
'2nd District on a standstill'
“For me it is nothing more than being a young person, 35 years old, that is a product of this environment,” he said, speaking at a community meeting at the Cane Garden Bay Community Centre.
“The difficulty that I have is that the Second District has been on a standstill for far too long,” he said.
“We have been in the same place for a very long time and I believe change is necessary,” said Turnbull.
He said that insanity is defined as doing the same thing and expecting a different result and this is what has been happening in the district, according to him. “It is time for us to change…it is time for us to change the way we operate, it is time to change the way that we live, it is time to change the way that we move in the second district as a whole,” he said.
Turnbull told the persons in attendance that for far too long the Second District has been neglected and left out, “not because we don’t have any Representative but because we don’t have any representation from our Representatives.”
“This movement is one that is going to harness the energies, harness the ideas, harness the thoughts, harness the dreams of the business community and let us work together as a unit to bring about the things that we need,” he said.
I have plans
He called himself a visionary who knows what the community needs. “I am here to you tonight to let you know that I am a visionary…I have plans for this district and I have plans for this territory and I have plans to move us forward from one level to the next. What is it that can be done to enhance our lives?” he asked.
“For me it is not about having a ministry or being an elected official. It is also not [about] being the Premier. I think that there are simple, fundamental things that can be done and must be done to get things happening,” he said.
'2nd District Rep hardly visible'
The young Turnbull lashed out at the current representative of the second District, Hon Christopher, who he said does not make himself visible to the people on a more regular basis.
“It is time that we the people realise that we are the people and we should believe in the individual that represents us,” he said.
After the floor was opened for comments from the audience, one man asked Mr Turnbull why he was running with the NDP. “My reason for going there is because I believe in the plans that they have set forth for the territory,” Mr Turnbull said.

Why would you or anyone vote for Hon. Christopher?!
I can't wait to hear what he is going to tell his constituents in the 2nd District. What he going to tell the country as a whole to vote for his Party
What Pep brining....Your leader our current district rep has done absolutely nothing for the district in donkey years. I see why you might be a little over confident though...with all the money PeP going to dish out to get people to vote I hope it doesn't turn around and bite yall in the butt as the people of the 2nd District has had enough. Election after Election AC is given chance after chance and yet he still hasn't done nothing but give away ham & turkey every year....Nonsense!
We making the switch and voting Mitch!!!!
So at this point and at this time, there is no question in my mind who I will vote for in the next elections. We have been left behind for too long with no one to make representation for us to find out what our needs are and to try to address them. It is clear that Mitch is willing to listen to the needs of the people of the 2nd and try his best to meet and even exceed them.
I urge my fellow citizens of the 2nd not to be afraid of change. For far too long we have sat back and just accepted what is given which is nothing. I am ready to make the change. We can't go wrong with Mitch. I give him my full support.
