The Preliminary held on January 11, 2023, in New Orleans, Louisiana, saw Miss Claxton show off her curves in a bedazzled blue and white intro dress by Portia and Scarlett, and then in another silver fit by Luis Lopez Designs.

Accented with Jewelry by Charlie Lapson, the 19-year-old Claxton was part of the 84 delegates to grace the runway and make first impressions on Judges in three categories.

For the Swimsuit cape, the BVI Miss Universe in a bid to take the international crown wore a cape designed by Dean “Ghost” Smith with Luis Lopez again designing the national costume depicting the national flower, the White Cedar.
