CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- Several tourists reportedly received 'minor' injuries when a Safari vehicle and a bus collided near the bottom of Cane Garden Bay Hill around noon, today July 6, 2016.

According to reports, the bus was descending the hill when it collided with a Safari vehicle ascending the hill on a blind turn.

"Apparently, the white bus was coming down the hill and it was wet and it hit the side wall and then into the vehicle that was coming up with tourists," a person on the scene told this news site.

Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services, ambulance and police were promptly on the scene of the accident.

Chief Fire Officer, Zebalon A. McLean said he received "an unoffical report of a few minor injuries, pending confirmation."

It was on the same Cane Garden Bay Hill on December 6, 2015 that two tourists lost their lives and 18 were injured in an accident involving a tour bus in the vicinity of Round Hill.

That road and running surface needs improving! How many more incidents/accidents before we come up with a comprehensive solution to the gradient, alignment and running surface. In the US and other developed countries there are run-offs along the defending roadways so that if brakes fail or other mechanical issues result in loss of control, situations such as this can be mitigated against. Where are the PWD 'engineers'? Mitch sort thrust out ASAP versus the fluff surrounding disrespect to the premier!

You drive that road daily in misty weather and you will see. The surface needs to be made rough. You go too slow and you won't make it up. All those tourists going up and down and nothing being done.
