ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Health Promotion Unit of the Ministry of Health and Social Development will be launching a monthly newsletter to promote health and wellbeing throughout the Territory.

The monthly newsletter will be issued on the second Monday of each month and will focus on mental, physical and emotional wellbeing and will assist residents in cultivating optimum health.

Public Health Officer Ms Renee Leonard said, “We want to make sure that the community has access to regular digestible education on health topics across various mediums and platforms.  We started out with New Year’s Resolutions, and we will look at chronic disease awareness information, as well as uplifting and positive tips for people to maintain health and balance emotionally, physically and spiritually.”

The newsletter features monthly themes, a health tip of the month and other life-saving health information.

“We encourage people to look out for the newsletter as it will play a vital role in our information sharing strategy,” Ms. Leonard said. She added, “I assure you that you will benefit tremendously from the contents of the newsletter and the knowledge and information shared will assist in better decision making, which will ultimately lead to more positive health outcomes.”

Persons desirous of being a part of the Health and Wellbeing WhatsApp Distribution List are asked to message the words “add me” to the telephone number 468-9981.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is committed to improving the health of the people of the Virgin Islands.

Cant even Afford rent, much less think about health. Cost of living is insane. Working to pay bills and rent while supervisors and bosses breathing down your neck. Dealing with workplace gossip and badmind. Its mordern day slavery and an early death sentence.
