MAIN STREET, Tortola, VI- A known mentally ill woman today, June 21, 2023, walked up to a cash register in a store on Main Street and made off with cash.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, the incident took place sometime in the morning at a store that sells spices and other imported items from India.

The salesperson had reportedly stepped away from the cash register when the mentally ill woman walked into the place of business and took the money from the cash register.

The incident was caught on camera.

"The RVIPF received a report of theft of cash of a business place on Main Street. No other details were provided," Police Information Officer Diane L. Drayton confirmed to our newsroom.

The perpetrator is said to be the same woman who made off with a tips jar from a food establishment in Road Town in October 2022.

Keep a broom stick in the corner for when you see this one coming. She's crazy like a bat, but a good stick will calm her down.

Not surprised because y’all continue to let the mentally challenged people to still do what they want as soon as they get out of prison/ jail free.

We have a mental crisis here, I am going to say it, keep playing with these people. I’m sorry but if one one of them approaches me in I am going to jam my taser in their throat. Now if I hurt one of these people they are going to put me in jail for defending myself. If one of them hurt me he or she is allowed to walk the streets. Up to last week I had to tell the fat one that if he get to close up on me I was going to use my taser on him.

I did some research and realized it was Gladys and not the same woman who stole the tips, but I guess being who Gladys is for yall dont wanna say it was her . Well to the business owner that this happened to, I'm very sorry that you lost your money to that waste of a woman. I have never visited your shop, but I will definitely come by and support your business.

Gladys has been stealing from parked vehicles and businesses and bragging about it, but yet the police is not taking her off thr streets. They will wait until someone seriously hurt her or killed her.

Fire did what she did in October 2022, however, the video clearly shows Gladys taking the money. If you not going to publish fairly because of the affiliation, DON'T publish. STOP THE FRIEND THING!!

Gladys just willful. Her brother James Todman gave her a whole apartment which she doesn't even stay in & she gets money every week from him.....she wants for nothing. If you have a conversation with her, she can tell all what going on in the country & ppl business.

I'm not disputing that she may not be well, but she knows very well what she is doing. Her backside needs a good whipping.

Plenty of these ppl on the streets here being a nuisance belongs to wealthy families. Why don't they collaborate with Government and build the required facility and remove them from the street?

The thing is that when she steals she buys food, clothes and give to the needy. How, can she be helped prison no. Invest and send her and others to rehab overseas. It is obvious HMP and local rehab is not working.

@Sad l totally agree with you. Clearly the BvI cannot help the mentall ill population. Theg do not have the facility or perhaps pfopke who are trained to work with the mentally ill population. so send her off island where they can get the necessary help that she desperately needs. She is a beautiful soul but she has mental health issues. I suggest Mr. Tidman should take the money he is gjving her and send away to a facility where she can receive proper treatments. Please Mr. Todman if you are reading this message or anyone that knows you...help your sister, she is not my blood sister but l heart bleeds aches for her. If l was in a financial position to help her l would do it and for others like her. Be your sister's keeper and protector...Shalom

Until one of them kill someone on the street only then the government will pay attention and get these mentally challenge people off the street. They need a facility and rehab care to help with recovery. . Pass Governments did nothing but send them to the Mental ward for a few days. we are looking forward to Hon Wheatley to get this issue sorted. Sonel Threatens people every day to hit them.
